thanks Sophie... he's just now waking up... He's very happy to have a birthday. There was a time when we weren't sure he'd make 60!

Hi everyone; popping in for a real quick visit to wish you a happy new year!
I'm doing fine, finally found the drive to study (yay!!) (but still bit tired, those days wear me down, never understood why, since I don't do much)

Wishing you a Happy New Year too BG.
Sometimes staying around the house makes you tired. It always amazes me how quickly the time goes when I don't seem to have accomplished too much, and yet when you get up early and get out and about, you seem to get loads done and be invigorated.

You're right...it was quite an experience.
We don't even do camping as a rule!

Public transportation - good because it reduces pollution and accidents.. bad because you are the mercy of their schedules or lack thereof. Glad now that you are safe and warm... really makes you appreciate your home, eh? And adds a little more compassion for the homeless

Yes, of late, you know how unreliable our trains have been - and to be fair, it galls us how unsympathetic or accommodating the staff are.

I have no idea how homeless people survive.
If you recall, we only took on Dennis because he was existing by himself in the wild.

Speaking of cats - there's been an enquiring about the youth...am having to be very strong-willed about letting him go
(although it is just an initial enquiry, not anything certain)
I have to reply to the email before we go out today.

Socks is so cute.. I can see where he'd grow on you. Our newest cat - daughter's- has been so good...but my black cat just doesn't accept her. The good thing is, Daughter's cat sleeps in daughters room @ night. So our black one feels free to come out from the room she stays in all day long. There is still growling going on during daylight hours..

Eventually my sister invited herself and her BF, so we ended up cancelling our plans (we were going to celebrate NYE amongst the 4 of us - very chill and relaxing)... And looking back, we didn't have the best NYE (sister ended up crying several times, we don't know why, but it was such a drama the entire evening I hope this does not repeat itself next year). If you have read back, I told an entire story when I was really upset she invited herself and I was going to mention something to her about it, but I didn't eventually, I didn't want to ruin the evening and besides, why bother.

Sad oh dear BG, no I haven't read back. I feel like we lost a couple of days what with going out early NYE and then being up all night...yesterday was a complete washout by the time we got home. I just had an hour's nap on the sofa, but felt unwell and worn out all day really.

Don't you find that NYE can either go entirely one way or the other? I think it's either a disappointment - or you have a great time...this year we managed both (to extremes!)

sorry, got distracted :blush3:
Well, on Wednesday she texted Mom really late to invite herself for NYE, so parents had to go through the rush to get more food and we had to cancel our plans (not that we planned much, but I intended to study - it's a day like every other day for me). She had a huge fight with her BF too, so she ran off a couple of times - which gave me the opportunity to talk to her BF - things are not looking good for them (he's reaching the final drop because of her latest behavior). It was a complete disappointment for us. And true, it's either really good or either really bad.

See you then Frannie, I just came back to reply/

I have far too much hair, I could grow my hair as an Olympic sport and win a medal every time!

Might not see you later, so enjoy your meal later xxx

Sounds like a lot of drama BG, and that your sis and her B/F really should split and get it over and done with.

See you later Frannie!

He was talking about a split up, but didn't want to throw away 6 years like it was nothing. He told me a couple of things that made me really amazed/astonished. I hope they get it sorted out anyways, but it's their business, not mine.

True, it's between them.

For myself I wouldn't see it as throwing years away though - those years were what they were for the time it lasted, and if it's not working out any more, then really they'd be best starting over.

Who knows, maybe splitting up might help them sort themselves out and later they might get back together and it would be better?

That movie is too funny!

I have no idea what would be best, but they have to get it sorted out - I just think my sister has a lot of issues she has to solve on her own (from the stories I heard and own experience with her behavior the last couple of months). It's because of the issues she's having, he's getting really tired of everything. And it's really a good guy, he tolerates much (that's my opinion).

Hi Everyone

Happy New Year's greetings from freezing Stafford!!!

It seems an age since I checked in but we've had a really strange holidays ! Mostly Smile but a little Sad nothing major just I'm married into a very perculiar family and as per they can't carry on without a little drama; this time directed at me

So anyway, back to normal tomorrow and most of today has been spent getting ready for the return to work. I was going to take the decs down today, just to free up some time on Tuesday, but I lost my bottle and decided not to rist the wrath of the Christmas gremlins LOl.

Love and hugs to you Gill, I did read about your adventure on NYE and don't envy you that one little bit, hope you're thoroughly thawed and well rested since.

I'll catch up with you all soon.

Don't mind his sweet taste, I love nothing but sweet!

Yup, I saw it on your fb profile...Brrrrrrr! My time before last in London we used Oyster cards and tbh they cost more than if I'd have bought a weekend pass! We won't be using them again, everytime we changed trains it seemed we had to top them up...one big diddle if you ask me.

Yes, family!!! They really are a catty, nasty bunch and I try very hard to stay away from them but this tiem they really crossed the line. They don't realise that it's Bob that they're hurting in the end!?!?!
But hey ho, we'll press on.

James Martin...yum, yum! I loved him on Strictly too, wanted him to win, he worked so hard.

Och well, as they say, you can choose your friends, but not your family -
feel sorry for Bob though.

have a look there too BG.

I'm on a wind-down, am still not quite back from all the job-changing drama, closely followed by Christmas and the horrendous NYE aftermath.

Normal service is waiting to be resumed congratulations
