Bee1 0 Posted October 12, 2010 Hello everyone Hope you all well - work is mad as one of the bosses is going on holiday on friday so he wants to have his desk clear RL is fine - went to a concert on Sunday - it was unbelievable! Missing you guys
Toulouse 0 Posted October 13, 2010 Hey guys,Feeling better today, glad, cos I'm meeting up with a friend for lunch. Hopefully we'll both make it: the bus station in our region is on strike (so that's harder for me, cos I have to go everywhere with the bus lately, but parents are so kind to drop me off and hopefully pick me up again). Also, the trains are having massive issues, also because of some kind of strike, which leads to problems for my friend.Hope you're all okay, miss you all. Toulouse 0 Posted October 13, 2010 Well, we had a good time, as always :-)Parents dropped me off, but came home by bus, had to wait for a while for one to show up, and it was pretty cold outside (but luckily was wearing a warm coat, gloves and a scarf). Still happy to be inside again though!Time for me to get some rest, cos I can feel I wasn't a 100% today. Now some busy days coming ahead!
inu-kijo 0 Posted October 14, 2010 awww look at all the Halloween siggies!!! : Panyways, i have a proposal for everyone (although, myself, I havent been in here for a couple of weeks.)They say the best thing to do when things are crumbling, is to change the name, and go at it with a fresh start. For those Mad men fans, if we were a dogfood, that is what we would do, change the name and put it back out there!!So I propose a name change, and placement back on the old forum, then a mass message out to all members. What do you guys think?anyone second the motion?any idea out there for names??@toulouse---snorks is sooooo suepr adorable in the siggy, I love her!!! <

Toulouse 0 Posted October 15, 2010 Keeping you guys updated!A while ago, I celebrated my birthday, and Kijo & Tanya sent me a box full of goodies (thanks again for that you two sweeties!). Today I made a cake with the ingredients they sent me, it's called "German Chocolate Cake". I haven't tasted it yet, but I hope it was as good as the one I tasted during my visit there.BF is here now since Wednesday eve, during the day he's off to work, but am always glad I can see him here now every eve. It's a bit of a special arrangement, because he has to take photos of several concerts and it's much closer to where I live then to where he lives. He's staying until Monday, so we have the entire weekend for the both of us. Not sure what the plans are yet.I'll also know more about my thesis subject beginning of next week. I hope you'll keep your fingers crossed for me for a good outcome.Gotta run now, miss you all~

Toulouse 0 Posted October 18, 2010 Hey guys, had a really good time - BF was here since Wednesday, just took him home today (blah, hehe). It's very cold here now already, starting to freeze and whatnot, and they predicted snow as well... Looking forward to when these constructions come to an end in our street, but starting this Wednesday, they are closing down the main street, so all traffic has to be deviated. Lots of fun...Fingers crossed I know more soon about thesis, just waiting on an answer, and it's killing me.Well, hope you're all okay.

Bee1 0 Posted October 19, 2010 Hi guys I have not been here for ages but work is busy and recently RL has been hectic too. I have good news (I hope I won't jinx it)! I got asked out last week by someone I've know for few months as a friend. We get on real well and have lots of things in common. We had one official and one unofficial date and are going out for a meal tonight. I think it's going well so fingers crossed. No other news in my life, health is OK (bit of sore throat right now but nothing major). Sadly I have not progressed any further with June 2011 trip planning but really should start doing some more research on that - I should be able to get "proper" prices for overseas flights now. Hope you all keeping well and keep me posted on what ever you decided to do with this group. Miss you
Toulouse 0 Posted October 19, 2010 Also just a quick visit from meLea: thanks for the suggestions!Bee: that is good news, I'll keep my fingers crossed (unless I jinx it, then I won't). Hope all goes well! You are able to find more about rates and discounts if you start looking now. We booked our flight somewhat around beginning of January I believe and were able to get a great deal. On Summer trip subject: sis was playing around with the idea of going back to the States next Summer (2011 that is) and she asked several times if I didn't want to join her. I finally decided not to do that and told her that. Gives me other opportunities as well.I am doing okay, still waiting on e-mails, hoping I get them soon, so I can get started... And besides all that, no other news.Hope you're all okay!
TanyaRC 0 Posted October 19, 2010 Lea, thanks for the great ideas. Life seems to have taken a busy turn for most ot the people around. I hope that things pick up soon here.Bee ... great news!! I am so glad that you are going out and having fun. Keep yourself open to new experiences and there is no telling what will happen. When you get ready for prices on travel here, let me know and I would love to help.BG.... good luck with the thesis ... I am glad that I was never that smart .. I would have hated to write that ... Everything in my part of the world is doing ok. Just got back from a short trip on the boat. We had a blast!!! Going this weekend to see an airshow from the water. Kijo is probably going to come and see it with us. It will be her first time on a sailboat. we are all excited!!

Keep us posted Sophie, good luck with your studies. As for me, I have seven more weeks for school and then I've earned my Bachelors! I would like to get my Masters one day but one step at a time, lol. For now I need a little break.Grandpa's memorial service was on Sunday and it was quite lovely. We had quite the turnout and told several funny stories. I think he would have liked it. smorkle 0 Posted October 20, 2010 hi ladies, i rarely post here anymore ever since zoonie left but i just wanted to say that i just love how you guys involve one another in your real lives. it's so great!! it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!! tee hee hee!bee ~ that's so exciting that you're dating again. i hope he turns out to be a really good one!! a keeper! Mindy~if you don't mind me asking, Bachelors in what? and how very exciting that you are almost finished! hang in there!!as for me, i know most of you don't know me here. i've chatted a few times with bee regarding twilight and other books but...i hope to change that so just a little about me. i live in southern california and i'm a nurse. i'm married with no kids, but 1 cat. she's 17 years old, black, and pear shaped like me right now hubby and i are trying to figure out what to do for our 4 year anniversary so if anyone has any suggestions, i'm open. ok, well that's it for me. Toulouse 0 Posted October 20, 2010 Hey guys,TT, I am glad you had a blast! Sounds wonderful!! Make sure to take pics for me, hehe :-D I am still waiting for more news, and am really motivated to get started. Things have been to slow for me the past few weeks and I have too much spare time. Believe me, I am really becoming lazy!Mindy: Congrats already! :-D It is a smart step to take it all one step at a time. I've had my bachelors for (counting...) 5 years now, decided to do something else, but couldn't get rid of the idea of getting my masters, so am working for that now these past 3 years. And... who knows... I might not stop after this year. Ahem :-) But we'll see, I still have time to decide on that.Smorkle: good to see you! Zoonie has been gone for a while now (I hope she's doing okay). Hehehe, another Twilight lover over here ;-) I can't wait for Eclipse to come out on DVD! And then wait for the other 2 Breaking Dawn movies... Hmm, ideas for anniversaries, that can be tough sometimes :-) What about a going-away weekend, with lots of fun things you both like planned? As for now, I have to get ready to go to school, gonna earn me some money by helping out others in their experiment (nothing to worry about, it's just a questionnaire on the computer). Not looking forward to be going outside as it is absolutely pouring... And the fun part is: we have a muddy street and there's no way around it if you want to go outside. It is really... bad... And we don't see any improvements now for this week, it's a new team that's working here and they are really slow (sorry to say that, but it is). Last weeks team got a lot done, they were really good! But oh well, it gets me out of the house, so I am glad I can be outside for a while, even though the weather is awful. Decided to go have lunch out with a friend, so I hope that's going to be funTTYLxoxo

Bee1 0 Posted October 21, 2010 Hello everyone it's so wonderful to read all the good news! Massive congratulations to Mindy and Sophie I admire you both - I don't have any degrees but it's never too late to start right?Welcome to Smorkle (it's been a while since we spoke). Little update - things are going well, we had great time and we are having a coffee after work today - just a quick one as I have tons of work and he was at the concert last night and didn't get home till after 1am so will probably be quite shattered. We been e-mailing like mad when at work last few days. Now we need to try to find a weekend when we both free to be able to spend some more time together (I didn't realise it will be that difficult right now but it will be weeks!). Sadly I live in South East London and he lives in Hertfordshire (less than hour train journey north east from London) so we are quite far away but both work in central London. Lots of love and hugs to everyone else.
smorkle 0 Posted October 22, 2010 going out of town sounds like a fab idea sophie! maybe going out of town to san diego!! we'll have to do some googling on that one. hubby went to school down there so he has a pretty good idea of some fun spots. funny, it never occurred to me to consider san diego till you mentioned it mindy. thanks!mindy~ we are neighbors!! very cool that we live so close. i actually grew up in la crescenta (north of glendale) but now i live in south oc. have you lived in so cal your whole life?bee~ i just love the beginnings of new romances. they are so much fun!! eek!! love emails.. Toulouse 0 Posted October 22, 2010 Aaah San Diego reminds me of SeaWorld! Loved that part of my trip. Got soaking wet in one of the attractions there :-D Had the best baby back ribs in SW (were sooo good) and San Diego Downtown was pretty fun as well! (I fell in love with socal, I cannot help it)Bee, it is never to late, ever, no matter what it is you want to do, it is never to late! I am happy you two have a great time and I think you both will figure out a way eventually!Today and this weekend will be my time off and I'm gonna enjoy it, since starting from Monday I'll be at the library from 9am until probably 4pm as I want to start working on my literature overview for one thesis subject already. I am still waiting on a reply concerning the other subject, so I haven't decided yet which subject to pick, but I think if I wait one more week, it'll be all too much to do at a short time. And I am pretty motivated to get things started! Finally something to do, hahaha!
mindyjoy 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Smorkle, I can give you some recommendations regarding San Diego and things to do, such as hotels, restaurants, clubs, etc. And Sophie can, too! I just love it there and you can take the Amtrak along the coast if you don't feel like drivingl!! Although your drive would be a little bit easier than mine; probably just a couple hours?Since you are in OC, do you have a Disneyland pass? I've been a passholder since 1998! I grew up in Thousand Oaks in Ventura County but now I live in Sherman Oaks. I work in Pasadena so I am familiar with that area, too. How nice to meet a neighbor on here!Sophie, enjoy your weekend off! Me, I'll be studying for my Statistics test all weekend.
Toulouse 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Hehehe, Mindy, I think you are a much better reference for San Diego then I am, I've only been there one day, spent the entire time at SW and then had dinner in a restaurant, where they had awesome lasagna and spaghetti (I dunno the name, but it was close to an ice cream place where they had like all kinds of flavors I've never seen!). Aaaa, Disneyland, that one is my fave!I'll keep my fingers crossed for the statistics test!!! Hope all goes well!
smorkle 0 Posted October 23, 2010 yay! the weekend is finally here. i hope all you ladies are getting some rest!Mindy~ Statistics? <----- that's how i feel about that! i feel like i have to run and hide cuz you said the "S" word..eek!good luck studying and i hope you do great on your exam!!and pasadena!! i know the area very well. i grew up in la crescenta and hung out in pasadena my whole life. truly such a small world! they have a great cafe on Colorado called Zephyr cafe (i hope i spelled that right) that i used to study at with really yummy paninis and teas.. but that might be a drive for you to come all the way out there just for some studying... but it's a great place to stop by too if you ever get the chance.Sophie~ What's SW stand for in san diego? Bee~ not sure what you've been reading these days with your busy schedule and all, but i've been reading a new vampire series.. i know i know.. i need serious help!it's the Undead series by Mary Janice Davidson. it's fun. it's about betsy and she's the new vampire queen and how she's trying to rule over all the vampires with her hotty pa-totty vampire king eric. some adult content but not a lemony delight like that other one that was LOL. i've been reading it on my phone for free.. so you may be able to find it for your commute if you're interested
Toulouse 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Well, that was interesting. Took over Mom's ironing and learned a lot, haha!I don't like statistics either to be honest... It took me a couple of times to pass that course, but last June I finally did. I've never been more proud then back then!Oh sorry Smorkle, SW stands for SeaWorld, a water amusement park in San Diego :-) It has different shows as well (e.g. Shamu, Waterworld) and rides as well (Shipwreck Rapids and..... How is that one called, Atlantis? It has a major splash down, but we didn't do it unfortunately, cos it was too cold and we were all finally dried up from the Shipwreck Rapids)
mindyjoy 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Love Sea World, my favorite is the penguin walk-through and the sea lion show where the Walrus spits on the crowd at the end .... LOL

Toulouse 0 Posted October 25, 2010 Haaa, sitting at the library... I thought it was supposed to be quiet here, but the cleaning team is making an awful lot of noise and it seems they are doing it on purpose...I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Toulouse 0 Posted October 26, 2010 Today it's a lot more quiet, I'm glad... But not such a good day to concentrate, I have no idea why or how it comes... Toulouse 0 Posted October 26, 2010 Good luck Tromo!I was wrong. There's a girl sitting in front of me now, she's chewing like a mad cow on chewing gum and making bubbles with it. Other then that, she makes a lot of noise. She's getting on my nerves hahaha!

And I thought Gum is forbidden in school.
Toulouse 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I wish they did that too... Yesterday someone walked over to a group and asked them to be more quiet, but they just made fun of him (kids...).Gum is not forbidden here, but it is forbidden to eat in the library, so basically, she is not allowed to chew on gum either ;p

smorkle 0 Posted October 26, 2010 hi-a sophie! it was so much fun chatting with you in the chat room yesterday! i hope your studies are going better than before and there are no more gum chewers or cleaners in your vicinity. libraries are not what they used to be. so many kids now. it's more of a social gathering than a place to study Ohhhhhh SW!!!!! i haven't been there in ages! went when i was a kid but barely remember it. that's a really good idea!today, i'm off to meet my brother-in-law, niece, and nephew at disneyland for a few hours. should be fun. glad it's not hot out today! mindyjoy 0 Posted October 27, 2010 hi all! Stats test went well, I think. I was the first one done. I'm so excited, just booked a Disney cruise for next April!!!!!!! Had to wait to find out when bf's show goes on hiatus and we finally were able to book it. There were only a few rooms left. Hopefully I chose a good room. I have never been on a cruise before! Toulouse 0 Posted October 27, 2010 Decided (yesterday) not to go to the library today and see if I can get more done by working home. Made a good decision, cos I barely slept and am really exhausted (I can take my afternoon nap then, when it gets too rough; hahaha)Smorkle: likewise! Now I have a better view on how everyone is, because just reading things in the threads is not the same as chatting! I really had fun! When I get some spare time, I'll poof back on! (and yeah, libraries are not what they are supposed to be... they have like warning signs on each wall, but no one respects them).I hope you had fun at Disneyland! It was one of my faves! I've been there the first time I visited friends in CA, that was 12 years ago, so I definitely wanted to go back now. The friend that took us, knew all the good rides. Gotta say I loved six flags too! We have something similar in Belgium, like Six Flags, and I'm going with my sister over there this Saturday, to celebrate Halloween as well! I am SO looking forward to that!!Tromo, I'll keep my fingers crossed everything turns out okay! I hate getting my blood drawn (and it's nothing I can escape unfortunately).Mindy, that is awesome news!!! And the cruise: WOW!!! I bet that's gonna be a blast! smorkle 0 Posted October 27, 2010 congrats on doing great on your statistics test mindy!! you must feel great now that that's behind you!! whoop whoop!! how exciting, a disney cruise! i've heard the disney cruises are the BEST!!! how many days are you going for and do you get to stop of at their island (the disney island)? way cool!! that's one cruise i really want to go on.i've been on a short 3 day cruise down to mexico which was so so, but the longer cruises are supposed to be a lot nicer. honestly, i kind of felt trapped but all in all it was a fun experience. luka~ i hope you are feeling better honey and that it's nothing serious as for me..i've got work tomorrow boo! 12 hours of nonsense! oh, and here are some pics from today:
