A tent? Jane, you and I will be reminded of Shoreline, no? LOL Face Though that tent isn't over the audience. Ah, I miss Shoreline. And the Cow Palace. Do you know I actually saw cows at the Cow Palace once? A bunch of us went to go see a rodeo. Laughing

Jamie, I'm so sorry you can't go. I was looking forward to maybe actually having time to hang out this time.

If the stage is that high, I'm fine standing in my row 4 seat. Especially since it sounds like the stage extends at least a few seats further out. Great

Ha ha, yeah like Shoreline! I have never actually been to the Cow Palace though I don't think. Well once I went to a Home & Garden show, it might have been there but I don't remember it too well!

One of the best concerts I went to was at the Cow Palace. In, must have been '89 or '90, I saw Aerosmith with Skid Row opening. That concert RAWKED - both bands were on fire. Mega Rock I've also been to a dog show there, lol. Between Aerosmith/Skid Row, a rodeo, and a dog show, I think I've seen the full gamut types of people who might go to the Cow Palace! Laughing

I saw a lot of bands at Shoreline of course, including what ended up being nearly the last show by the Grateful Dead. I also saw the Dead back when they used to play Frost - I think my freshman year, when I went, was the last year they were allowed to play on the Stanford campus. Too many "unsavory characters" accompanied them, lol. I thought Deadheads filling the campus was fun though, and I bought a really great tie-dye t-shirt I wish I still had. Smile

Okay, sorry for the Hijacked Back to our regularly scheduled concert... only 26 days away! Yahoo!

Did anyone ever get any more info about the seating, how far to the sides the stage goes etc? I have been meaning to call but haven't managed to do so yet.

I saw this posted on DCO by davidrocksmysoul.

Re Morongo's promotion of David's concert... I live & work in the general vicinity of Morongo and Pechanga casinos - a little closer to Morongo but roughly between the two. Other than the giant billboard on the 10 freeway near Morongo, and a few ads in Riverside area newspaper, I haven't seen/heard any promotion for this show. Nothing on the radio, or at least not any stations I listen to. Nothing on local tv, although Morongo does have generic ads for the casino, but not specific to the concert. I haven't seen any posters in storefronts, etc.

For the Pechanga shows, the promotion was much heavier - radio, heavy newspaper ads, tv spot, billboards, posters around Temecula, even twitter. Of course, it was New Years Eve, so possibly the budget was fatter for that.

I'm not sure how ticket sales are going at Morongo - I hope to find out in the next couple of days. What I can't figure out is why they decided to put him in the outdoor pavillion in February rather than in the showroom. The pavillion is not used much - there hasn't been a concert there since last summer. I think STP was the last one.

Hey if anyone was looking for a ticket or knows someone who is please point them in my direction. I've got one ticket to find a good home for; it's row 3, section B, seat 9.

Face value would be nice, but I honestly just want someone to have a good time.

That sucks, not much promotion and yeah I've been trying to figure out why it would be outdoors in Feb, regardless the locale.

Post more if you find out.

Should we make plans for a group dinner Saturday before the show? Say 5:30 to not cut it too close if there's a line at the restaurant? Anyone know what restaurant at the casino we should go to? Anyone interested I'll start keeping track in the OP of this thread .

FYI for people going to Morongo: I just came from there. Box office person told me concert is 75% sold. Only seats left are in the section at the back. He said typically there is heavy activity the day of the concert so they are expecting it to be a near sellout.

Today was cold and blustery there - no rain but very cloudy, high of about 55 degrees. The forecast for next Saturday (27th) is for high of 60 with 30% chance of showers. It's such a shame we couldn't have had last week's weather (80's) for next Saturday. Guess it would be too much to ask for nice weather AND DC, lol.

To get from the casino to the outdoor pavillion you have to go outside, past the pool area and up a small hill to the arena. The walk is equivalent to about a long block. I was freezing by the time I got back to the casino. The box office guy told me that when the weather is rainy or windy on concert nights, they provide a shuttle from the casino to the door of arena. But the shuttle can only take about 40 people per trip. We'll just have to hope there is no rain.

weather.com now says 59º and 60% chance of rain. We can Fingers Crossed!!! that the rain is expected early in the day though, since Friday is a 30% chance and Sunday only 10%. When we get a couple days away we can get an hour-by-hour forecast. And maybe the chance of rain will go away. Smile

It's a David Cook concert... I think you have to go in expecting rain (or snow, or tornados... LOL)

So excited for all of you who get to go!

I spoke to Morongo box office lady in person a couple week ago, she told me tickets were sold out except the back sections, she also told me that "upgrade the ticket" at any day, especially, at the concet day is not going to happen, I quoted what she said "I don't think so, it's David Cook concert". she said that section B,C,D,E are right in front of stage and my Section E, row 7 seat is an excellent seat.

I live in LA for 30 years, weather is the last thing to worry about, no matter what the weather report is.
