carb synchronizer... buy or build one?

I have my old bike running after sitting for 3 yrs it's a 2001 R1, it's carbureted and I think it's time to synch the carbs 15k on the odo and it runs like crap .My question is do I buy an inline set of 4 vac gauges or should I try to make a fluid type manometer? It is my understanding that the good synchronizers are the old mercury based ones that nobody sells anymore...

Buy a set of these,But shop around and buy new, easy to use and its not wourth messing arund making stuff.

Wow, gone up a tenner since I bought mine just over a year ago. Easy to use, results tangible. Smoother throttle response & about another 4 mpg.

I agree, these are best imo for the job, not mercury anymore, too dangerous, sliding tubes now.
I will add, make the carb balance the last job to do after all the other jobs in the service shedual.

thanks guys, i purchased the MORGAN CARBTUNE off ebay... I'm lucky cause the bike has vac ports under each carb so it should be easy to setup
