just heard he passed away in his sleep last night aged 59.
a great rock and blues guitarist sadly missed.

I'm only 34.. but like my lil sister says to my niece, you like Beyonce but why not find out what inspired her to be as she is... same with RnB - all the greats that inspired todays RnB were doing their thang when my parents were younger than me. Just like how Black Sabbath are the fathers of metal compared to modern standards. Today's bands grew up listening to bands like Thin Lizzy etc ... so it's good to have a broad musical education. I was into the Police, Doors, Sabbath, Metallica, , velvet underground, Dio etc when I was 14. It's like saying you like reggae but don't know who Bob Marley is Laughing

I can remember Thin Lizzy playing at Bourne corn exchange in early 70's and remember talking to Phil Lynott in Red Lion before they played.

I saw him at the Princes Charlotte in Leicester years ago, two feet from a rock god, Awesome! thumbs

Sad news too young, I guess heaven will be rocking tonight.

R.I.P Gary, sad loss of a brilliant axeman. Watched him live many times with Lizzy and solo. My fav is [still in love with you ]Gary on guitar and Phil on vocals.
