ken s 0 Posted June 25, 2012 I'm so jealous looks great mate, I had one for almost three years but had to give her up because of a shoulder / arm injury that was not conducive to the riding position of sports bikes if at all possible I would have one tomorrow. Best bike I have ever owned and my wife said its the most comfortable pillion ride she has ever had. Enjoy your new ride.

Changed one to higher bars. There are lots of kits and conversions andthey work well. I know to a few done for touring. With raised slightly pulled bar bars and lower Buell pegs they are a totaly different bike if you want to do high mileage or have comfort issue's. It just looks poor taste to me.On our Aussie Busa site there are a few folkwho dont want later models and pay good moneyand are proud of their copper/gold '99 Gen1's. Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 26, 2012 The screen looks like a "double bubble"raised in the centre. Although I dont likechrome screens the double bubble's are worthhaving. If your anywhere near 6-foot tall and lean forward when being a "bit sporty"you cant see the top's of the clocks otherwise!

Grumpyowl 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Top Box the Busa family is growing nicely on here as Tony say's if your looking for a bit more comfort I can give a up to Suzuki touring screen, Helibars and lowered foot pegs have made a massive difference for me comfort wise. jezza 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Well done on your busa, riding position takes a little getting used too however I dont notice it too much now.@Grumpyowl wrote:Top Box I just manage to get a venture system for mine for a grand total of £150 the bag is 90 litres

Chadatious 0 Posted June 26, 2012 why nice one stan does that mean you can make the souther ride
stantheman 0 Posted June 26, 2012 havent sold me 1250 bandit so had to insure both on one policy if i dont get used to the busa or if i can sort out the riding position then i might have to use the 1250 for the lakes rideout
flange 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Theres always the comfort kit Stan.Best of both http://www.topyokes.com/comfort_kit_+_handlebars/
Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 26, 2012 New top yolk and traditional bars is my personal choice. Not the cheapest or easyest though. There are several kits to raise the standard bar's.Either using longer mounting castings with the original straight clip-on, or ones such as Heli-barsthat use the original casting and use a clip-onwith a "step" in it.http://www.helibars.com/product/gsx-1300r-hayabusa-08-09I would add that there is nothing REALLY wrong with the Busa's riding position, lots of folk just need to put some miles in and get used to it.If (like me) it then doesnt suit you, its quite easy to change it to more upright.(and have a better bike than a B-King.. )
Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Plenty of kits to lower the pegs.Lots of folk use Buell footpegs,or theres kits like these...http://www.whaccessories.com/FootPegLoweringKit.htmI've never bothered as I find neitherBusa's B-Kings have a great deal of clearance with the stock ones.Personal taste. Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 27, 2012 @dick65 wrote:nice easy conversion Have you put a new hydralic clutch line in a Hayabusa recently ?Removing both top yolks (Busa has 2) not too bad.Removing the ignition lock wasnt as easy, one of the anti-tamper bolts was rounded off inside.Re-routing the cables to the switches and the choke (fast idle) cable wasnt hard.Fitting and bleeding both brake lines was OK(I went 2 full lines, 1 from the master toeach caliper, no splitter)The clutch is part flexi-rubber and part rigid steel, wasnt the easiest job to do. Grumpyowl 0 Posted June 27, 2012 http://www.knightdesignllc.com/index_files/suzuki_busa_fp_08_11.htmgot these in natural alloy 1" lower no rubbers so more like 1-1/2 "lower no hero blobs so no probs with clearence for me.in natural when fitted difficult for non anoracks to spot from standard.heli-bars are brilliant keep watching evil bay there always coming on.or on offer at moment £130 great improvement over stock and doesn't change looks of bike.if you'd have known about this Dave Mel would have told you to get the real thing. Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 27, 2012 Something else to consider with a Busa:Lots of folk have had them roll off the side stand. Its not really a design fault, just that early modelsas stock sit with the stand a little closer to "folding back" that some other makes and models. Its an easy fix.Lots of folk give the sidestand bracket "stop"a few brushes with a file and it folds past a little further.About 3/4 of the way down this page.Cost.... zero !http://www.pashnit.com/hayabusa-mods.htm
stantheman 0 Posted June 27, 2012 cheers for the info tony ill check that out straight away im going to raise the handlebar yokes 20mm with some spacers i got tonight off a mate im still finding the footpegs are too high but ill see what raising the bars does first
Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 27, 2012 It may already have been done. Lots have. The spacers between the two top yolks arequite popular. Lots of folk do it so theycan drop the yolks down the forks to lowerthe front for the drags as the higher ofthe two top yolks is to small to pull theforks up through.
Tony nitrous 0 Posted June 27, 2012 In case anyone else is interested.........Something like this......Only the lower of the two top clamps holdthe forks so there's no safety issue's.With the forks set LOW you get higher bars. With the forks lifted UP you lower the front end. stantheman 0 Posted June 28, 2012 thats the very ones mate ive just got to pick up some longer m10 bolts then ill see if i like it a bit more if not itll have to go and ill keep me 1250 bandit the spacers in the pic look longer than20mm as well so maybe i could go higher than 20mm
stantheman 0 Posted June 28, 2012 just measured the pitch on the bolts and it is 1.25 so ill need nuts as well pleased i noticed this cos most m10 are a 1.5 pitch and ive sussed out how to lower the pegs ill be a busy bee tomorrow
