Can anyone recommend somewhere to stop , Saturday , Sunday nite ? Just needs to be clean and somewhere where the bike is safe

I've got a book at home that lists all the B+Bs that welcomes bikers. If nobody comes up with anything before tonight let me know roughly where you want to stop and I'll get you some phone numbers.

Hotels & b&bs along the Middleton-Alston road would be about right. Middleton in Teesdale is a nice little place and if the ride is too slow there's plenty of roads around there to satisfy your cravings

Looks a good route Dave as Skelly said we have rode various sections of it and they are great for bikes - the Middleton-In-Teesdale to Alston is a good one we have done many times then on to Hartside and the Lakes(not on your route). Loads of B+Bs along your route Dave but sorry couldn't recommend any as never had need to use them (Bladerunner's book or Google is your friend for this I think). No one could ever accuse you of not putting the miles in mate   , definitely put me to shame
