"new" torque arm turned up, bout twice the size of the old one only cost £20 posted too still waiting for ht rear bolts to turn up they are taking ages :icon_scratch: oh things might slow down a bit now as i found on this week i may be made redundant at the end of Jan 2011 thats all for now folks........
  3. trouble is i used to work at same place but on a diff pay scale then an offer came along for a temp position. been in that position 18 months (dont know what they call temporary) then they got rid of my old job and say i have to apply for new job. but i cant because this new job (temp position) is 2 scales higher than old job. Rules say i can only apply for jobs 1 scale higher or lower. there id lots more confusing info none of which i will bore you with now.
  4. well basically just been told today that my job is at risk of being made redundant. worse case scenario is i could be out of a job by May next year. wont find out anything until 24th Jan. just before crimbo too, great huh.
  5. well not much of an update, steering head bearings came so put them in and put the yokes in. got a big bag of stainless bolts turn up for the bike so thats good. ordered me "new" torque arm, same as last but bigger lol. ordered new ht rear suspension bolts ordered stainless frame bolt kit from bandit rob. fork legs should come back from lee 2morrow , will be ordering hagon progressive springs and oil this week. gotta get new oil seals and dust seals too. swingarm has been painted, will be picking it up this week. rear swingarm bobbins should come this week too. 7. cheers for the advice rose, have done that you can just about see the stamped in number, plate is knackered though due to being blasted.
  8. well cant cant a new plate from suzuki, dvla cant help, they put me on touch with dept of tranport who can issue you with a covering letter , once they have inspected it, vin is still stamped into the neck of the frame, just makes it harder to sell if i had to (havent got any plans to just yet) Mark.
  9. well good and bad news, got the frame back from the powdercoaters, they forgot to take the vin plate off so now its fooked! done a great job on the frame though, pics were taken on a very dull day but hopefully with a bit of sun on it it should look good.its a very fine metallic. head bearings should be here next week so can put yokes back in. Anyone know where i can get a new VIN? he did apologise and knock some money off so i cant really moan at him, its only a mistake we are only human.
  10. got any pics as it seems that was the last 2 he had lol
  11. oh forgot to say im gonna buy one of these to mate up with the master cylinder as its soo much easier to top it up than standard bandit posiion. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250727495472&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI

  18. have to admit i have seen nicer disks but these havent even done 10k yet so am reluctant to change them. chrome frame would look so bling! wonder how much it would cost
  19. Ta! got a quote of 45 quid to blast and 70 quid to powder coat the frame which isnt too bad, gonna try a very local company see what they can do first.
  20. cheers dave! well been having a thorough look at the frame and have decided to have it blasted, the more i look the more little bits of rust i find. waste of time doing all this work and having a rusty frame underneth. have contacted 3 local companies as it wont fit it my mates booth. Mark. :icon_thumright:
  21. Well bit of an update. won me gsxr shock on ebay so will collect that soon. then i need some dogbones making up to the correct length. new torque arm turned up so thats good. my mate sandblasted my swingarm and primed it in his booth. (just gotta decide on a colour.) he also brought round the front wheel he has sprayed, he is not happy with the rear so will redo it. just gotta fit new bearings into it i painted and laquered the front calipers. just waiting for stainless nipples and banjo's then gotta buy some new pads taking the frame , tank , and mudguards/ seat plastics round for paint next week. this is the colour its going to be. what do we think so far? engine has only done 9300 miles so hopefully when im finished will be like a brand new bandit! not looking to modify too much just want a nice bike. got a viper seat to go on but im a bit of a perfectionist so will recover it. Mark.
