if you carry on riding without any earplugs your hearing will get
destroyed then the noise wont bother you,
I find on the bandit just moving slightly in the saddle helps to reduce the turbulence that causes the noise and the use off expanding earplugs makes it comfortable to ride long distances without developing tinnitus
I never ride without earplugs but they seem to be becoming a problem keeping them in my ears, or at least in properly -
I know a Geezer with a stand there but I'm on nights all weekend

That's a shame I'm on nights, would have been nice to meet up.
Have a great trip mate -
Just took the plunge and ordered this, ready for the rideout.

I just wasted a minute of my life
-
although i've got one helmet that is dead silent. Scorpion EXO1000, yeah its a bit of dosh but very quiet and a good set of ear plugs for the other helmets
That's the exact helmet I have just brought
But on the FJR front, I wont be taking pillions.
Robbie I have just ordered those earplugs and a few others, going down the process of elimination path.
My plan now is
1. different earplugs
2. try the same helmet on the Bandit
3. lower my screen to its lowest and try again
4. try a different screen
5. get one of those butt plugs -
-
Ok just spent £300 on my new helmet and was nearly deaf when i got home from belgum, thats 3 helmets all loud with wind noise,( and I wear earplugs) I really dont know what to do.Here is my options
1. get a bike like a FJR (hide behind a screen)£6000+ and might not work
2. spend more on this with different screen etc £300+ and might not work
3. say and get a car
This is reeeaaaaaaallly doing my head in, I was ready to leave the bike on the mway yesterday.
I'm going to work in a mo so wont get round to replying tonight but sometimes it takes a different person to see the answer. -

I'm sure this has been covered before but lets have another go.
I have a TomTom car nav that I put inside a proper motorbike satnav bag, complete waste of time as I can't see it at all
I'm now thinking of getting a waterproof bike satnav, so the question is what have you done to get around this problem and if you went the whole hog and got a bike one is it any better? -
@Chadatious wrote:nice one rich looks tidy, you guna paint or polish it?
polish would be nice but being the lazy I am, will probably end up painting it.
Its aluminum can I sand and polish it like my heel guards on the bandit??Dave likes a length rich
Well he aint getting one off me! -
Nice one
-
Just been out for a quick wizz, it sits a bit too low, the satnav bag covers the neutral light and indicator lights, I haven't given myself any extra on the length, so i will make some longer brackets now I'm a fully blown fabricator

I wouldn't wear a jacket without back protection. I went on a rideout a month ago and realized that i hadn't swapped my BP from the other jacket, I went straight to the nearest bike shop and bought one. -

Glad you like it mate, only too happy to share
That's what this forum is all about IMHO -
I'm not one for making and fixing bikes but thought I would have a go at making myself a satnav holder. It needs a bit more work but I'm generally happy with it and will test it out tomorrow on a 200 mile rideout
