well, most of us knows by using right grade sanding paper will help out when doing customizing works. i'll make it short coz i only wanna intro u all in2 a new sanding method i think is new but still very good results for customizing. my worker (i work in furniture line) intro me bout tiz material when they doing touch-up on furnitures. is some sort called fibreglass sanding cloth. my worker bought it frm hardware shop(not every shop selling it) & is not too expensive. lets make it easy 2 understand da structure of da cloth. imagine is a cotton roll(those we use in 1st aid kit) but in dark grey colour. it looks like ordinary cotton form but when u touch it, u'll fell is a bit rough but still smooth at da same time. tiz material IMO is better than finnest grade sand paper coz we can use it as finishing sanding(low presure apply) @ as cleaning sanding(high presure apply) at da same time. *CAUTION!!! is oso a dangerouse material coz missuse of it can easily making ourself injured.
