  1. Takraw has turned into a crap sport. Every time they score a point, they start to make stupid antics on the opponent. Can get bonus points for those antics? Last time when we played of course we jeered at each other because we were playing in kampungs. Which is fine because we knew each other.

But this are total strangers and its pretty stupid. I tell u its because of the stupid antics on court for every point that makes the players start to loose concentration. U jeer at them when u get a point u happy. Then when they win a point, u get jeered at and loose confidence. So its up and down feelings. Like this how to play a good game? The duration between play & court celebrations are too short. Unlike football where at least 3-5 minutes was used for them to celebrate their scores. Looking back the 1980-1990s takraw players are the best. At least they are serious and leave the on court antics very little. Really i hate those butt shaking celebrations they do. Pathetic, no wonder we aren't a powerhouse anymore. I would rather see lawn bowl and equestrian.

At least like in Badminton Lin Dan would save those stupid funny moves for when he won. Like that breakdance move he did when he won LCW.

Some of the points u mentioned are very interesting. In fact some of P Ramlee city life movies shows him enjoying life in night clubs. I wonder if in real life he does hang out at these places? Probably Aziz Sattar & S Shamsudin knows?

Actually that's not really something you should be wondering as the Malays back then are totally different than Malays today, especially the elite Malays, they were far more 'liberal' so night clubs, women, gambling and all shouldn't be seen as surprising to see our fathers did it. Those are not seen as an 'offense' back then, for example if P. Ramlee was so broke he ran mahjong table there's no things like JAIS that will haul him up just because he's Malay, and most Malay goverment servants even had their own bar inside their house. So if you hear stories up to this day like royalty being an alcoholic, frequents casino, ministers keeping mistresses and all it's just their old habits never dies. I'm not saying this is a good thing, just telling how it used to be. Both my grandparents lived in this circle.

Interesting. To learn more about them read book title : "Kelas Menengah Pentdbir Melayu" by Dato' Dr. Nordin Selat. 1976

In other words i probably grew up being served the distilled lives of the old ways. The closest i have come across such, is a childhood malay friend who asked me to buy him booze. To which i declined. In fact i'm not going to buy anyone any booze because i have a relative that has a bad history with booze. Lucky he turned up OK nowdays. With kids and all.
