David performed NEW song on a special show for Mix 94.1 Live Underground.
It took us more than 4 hrs to wait to be uploaded. But it was so worth it, thanks to @KerryBillicki.

Enjoy!

Thanks Aida for posting-so beautiful! Thanks to Olivia for transcribing the lyrics~

Here's what I have for lyrics. There are a few bits I can't figure out, but the rest I'm pretty sure of...

Here we are at the starting line of a race that goes ‘til the end of time
You and I
Take a long deep breath and I’ll take one too
As the seconds fade and the minutes move
I’m by your side

Life’s a countdown that never ends
And the world we know keeps on caving in
We can hold on, I will hold on

‘Til the clocks run out, ‘til the sun breaks down
I’ll be all the love you need
‘Til the stars turn cold, I’ll never let you go
From here to zero

A love we’ve {?} from a second look
Like a flower pressed in your favorite book by the windowsill
We got lost in the passing glances
But winter frost melted in our hands and time stood still

Life’s a countdown that never stops
{?} it all fall down as the {?}
We can hold on, I will hold on

‘Til the clocks run out, ‘til the sun breaks down
I’ll be all the love you need
‘Til the stars turn cold, I’ll never let you go
From here to zero

And every point in between
{?}
{?} living in (sung by Andy)
Look in your heart and please believe
I’ll never go, I’ll never leave
From here until the end

‘Til the clocks run out, ‘til the sun breaks down
I’ll be all the love you need
‘Til the stars turn cold, I’ll never let you go
From here to zero

‘Til the clocks run out, ‘til the sun breaks down
I’ll be all the love you need
‘til the stars turn cold, I’ll never let you go
From here to zero

Ok-so from what I have read-it appears that a reliable source that was there said this song is a Zac Maloy co-write.

If that is true, then as he indicated in the Q&A the song for idol was a song he wrote with Andy & friend Daniel so we will get another new song may 10th! Excited2

I can hear this one being a Zac Maloy co-write.

It's beautiful... love that voice!

And I'm not surprised that the song on Idol will be a different one. He did say he was going to debut it there... I think he'll hold that one to be new to everyone. (Unless he tries it out on us at the NoH concert next week, just to get a feel for playing it in front of an audience. He did do that last year with DYFAM. But that was a cover, not a new song, so who knows? That's just me hoping.) LOL Face

So his friend Daniel is, I assume, DanielisRad on twitter? Daniel James?

I'm thinking that is the Daniel as lots of his fans follow him too.

I just love this song-the more I listen the more it just impresses the hell out of me. That voice-the lyrics-the melody are just perfection!

I've pretty much been listening non-stop all morning. His falsetto is gorgeous!

Hope we hear this at the NoH next week... seems like it would fit well in the acoustic show he's doing there.

Jamie, There is an mp3 link in the first post.

This song gives me a sense of someone who is in a very good place in their life right now. It makes me feel happy, content, safe, warm...

So the show tonight is acoustic? Do we know that for sure? Cause if it is I'm kinda glad I didn't go. I prefer plugged in shows. Don't get me wrong. I love Dave unplugged, just prefer plugged in.

If this song is any indication, I'd say that David is in a very good place right now. As tough as he had it when he was writing for TLM, that's how good he has it now. I'm happy for him!

So purty. Heart

I agree the song sounds like someone in love. It sounds like someone trying to reassure the one he loves that he's not going anywhere.

The softer side of Dave. Smile I just hope he doesn't get so soft we don't get any more angsty, rockin' songs, lol.

I have no idea what tonight is, Viv. Next week at the NoH is definitely acoustic.

I agree - this is a song that sounds like someone in a good place, and after the rough time he had after losing Adam, I'm happy for him too.

And I love the softer side too, but am pretty sure the hard rocking guy will always be around. *See the WLL cover from Clovis* He loves rocking it out.

I hope so too. As much as I love this song and happy to see him in a good place, there is nothing better then angsty, rocking Dave.

I'm in tears here listening to it in repeat. OMG, how I missed listening to new songs, discovering them line a line...

Here's what I hear:
Quote :
Life’s a countdown that never stops
When it all fall down as the {?} it causes
We can hold on, I will hold on

[editing]A friend said she hears "As it all fall down as we count the cost", we're still trying to figure it out lol[/editing]

Absolutely lovely!

DP, Stacy, Jeannie: I agree with you ladies. He sounds strong, at peace, and in a good place. Right now, I don't miss the heartbroken, angsty David of "Makeover"s, "Porcelain" Faces, "Come Back to Me"s, "Lie"s, "Last Goodbye"s, or "Paper Heart"s.

I want him to be happy, and if the lyrics to this song are any indication I am thinking that perhaps he is.

Oh WOOOW! Gorgeous... Finally a new song...
And it's amazing AMAZING!
Awww Love I can't descrive how I feel now, it's just wow, he improves with every song. He tries new thecniques, new instumentation... This way they can grow as artists.
Many artists agreed that this is the way you get better and better everytime, if you can do a thing, don't do it, because you already know it, so if you're bad at something, do it until you're great. Then you can do the two things together and it's better!!! Very Happy At least it works for me...

I'm amazed.
Want some more new songs Smile

Thank you ladies for everything Hug

This song...I had to come back here, just to talk to other people about this song!! My god. I'm sitting here, still in tears. It's incredible. So beautiful and vulnerable, sweet and tender.

I love this. And like a lot of other people said, it sounds like David is at a very good place in his life. He sounds so content.
Now, you know, time to go listen to it 12,000 more times... Awww Love

You know, I can REALLY picture this being a big hit on the radio. Of course, it's all how it is recorded and produced and packaged and all that. But the melody is fabulous and really stays with you after the song is over. I'm very excited about this song! Excited2

I agree. I had listened to it a few *snickers* times before I went to get my haircut, and I honestly had it running through my head the entire time I was gone. It just stays with you.

I think that mystery line is "we could all fall down". That would be the grammatically correct phrase.... "When" and "as it" don't fit.

PEOPLE: I'm in LOVE! With this song, of course! love111.gif

I'm just wondering if the one he will perform on Idol will be catchier 'cause I think people will LOVE this one! (not that I doubt him, but you know who have been picking his singles and how it goes...)

ETA: This song does stay with you, like Stacy said. Plus, it's easily memorized!

QTTaquito has updated her lyrics, and I think she's got it pretty close. It's a little different from the video above, but this sounds right to me - with the exception of one line (I've added what I hear in yellow after that line. )

FROM HERE TO ZERO

VERSE 1:
Here we are at the starting line
Of a race that goes till the end of time
You and I
Take a long deep breath and I'll take one too
as the seconds fade and the minutes move
I'm by your side

Life's a countdown that never ends
And the world we know keeps on cavin' in
We can hold on, I will hold on

CHORUS:
Till the clocks run out, till the sun breaks down
I'll be all the love you need
Till the stars turn cold, I'll never let you go
From here to zero.

VERSE 2:
A love we've set for a second look
like a flower pressed in your favorite book
by the windowsill
We got lost in a passing glance
as the winter frost melted in our hands
and time stood still

Life's a countdown that never stops
When it all falls down and we count the cost *Does it all fall down as we count the cost?*
We can hold on, I will hold on

CHORUS:
Till the clocks run out, till the sun breaks down
I'll be all the love you need
Till the stars turn cold, I'll never let you go
From here to zero.

Bridge:
And every point in between
from curtain up to closing scene
(the spotlight we've been living in)
Look in your heart and please believe
I'll never go, I'll never leave
From here until the end.

CHORUS:
Till the clocks run out, till the sun breaks down
I'll be all the love you need
Till the stars turn cold, I'll never let you go
From here to zero.

Till the clocks run out, till the sun breaks down
I'll be all the love you need
Till the stars turn cold, I'll never let you go
From here to zero.

The bridge above makes sense to me, and that seems to be where we have the most differences.

The yellow line is what I could make out too, Jeannie.
The first word ends with an "s" I suppose, so "does" makes sense. I'm just unsure about "cost".

ETA: And I heard "seen" not "set"??
