I met someone from another forum and said that I would take them riding as they where a learner.

Had a great time and came back to mine for a coffee (no get your minds out of the gutter) They said they had had trouble getting some kit and I said I had some leathers that where to small and they could see what they thought.

They tried them on and to be honest looked great and she said she would have them. I said just send a cheque. So any way, chased up the cheque paid it in the bank, where it promptly bounced. I've then phoned and said I want the cash, I spoke to her, its now another 10 days. I've just phoned again and left a message saying I either get the cash recorded delivery or she sends the stuff back.

Do you think I should name and shame them on the forum we are both members of, I'm really pissed off?

Its only £60 quid but I could really do with the money..

That's not v good. You said you've just left a message so maybe wait and see what she comes back with. You really need to speak to her (phone or face to face) see what her reasons are for not paying you the money she owes you. If she is local can you meet up again? I wouldn't go and upset her until you have that. If after that you still feel you want to name and shame her do it but not until you have the money.

Yes, I was very nice on the phone last time, this time I've left a message and will phone again tonight. I think I've been too understanding.

give her one more chance to cough up and then tell her you're going to go public on the forum but chances are that wont bother her as she doesn't seem like an hounorable person anyway otherwise she'd have paid you by now - difficult because the most important thing is to get your money and it's not a question of "only £60" it's a matter of principle

Give her the benefit of a doubt. Naming and shaming won't really do much really, as good as it will feel, you'll also drag a lot of negative shit about. I'd go round and get the money. Moral of the story is, make sure you have the guarantee card details on the back of the cheque - you'd have got paid, she'd have got the fee. Also it shows you are probably too generous and trusting which isn't YOUR fault if people take advantage of that. I do that sort of thing all the time.

Give her a chance to make right, if she blatantly ignores you, then name and shame but she'll just move forum. As a last resort she has effectively stolen that gear.. you could get the police involved. Best bet, talk first.

I phoned again and just texted saying that if she couldn't ignore me, I wouldn't let the matter go and that if I didn't hear from her by the end of the week, I would go down the official route.

So I had a phone call saying, someone has just texted me and I don't know this number. So I said it was me, I was expecting the money, it had been over a month and her cheque had bounced. She apologised and said that her mum has been ill and that she is at her dads. I just let her waffle and didn't say anything. So the money is being sent recorded delivery. I said if it wasn't I wouldn't believe she had sent it and she would have to do it again.

So we will wait and see..
