Feeling really old

Recommended Posts

I was sorting out My garage today and came across some old eighties pics of Me and My old Kwaka 650 and all My old mates at the time.
I looked at them for ages with a big smile on My face...Until I caught the reflection of Myself in the mirror of My fireblade.

47 this year..and god its really showing. Please tell Me Im not alone in this depressing predicament Sad

Far from alone mate, but given the alternative, I'm happy to be a pot bellied slaphead with no money. There's not generally a lot of fun in a graveyard Very Happy

Thanks dave You have made Me feel a little better.

Thinking now about the biking days in the mid eigties. there was no full race leathers and fancy technology. It was a black jacket and jeans pair of trainers and a bike that consisted a four cylinder engine with an alpha 4 into one exhaust and a skinny square edged rear tyre.. GREAT TIMES Very Happy

Avon Roadrunners-how crap were they? The real race tyre of it's day was the Dunlop TT100. Who had those? Smile

I'm 53 so will I still be riding in 10yrs I hope so scratch

But these are probably going to be the
"best times of our lives"
I like most just don't appreciate what I have now,
My Bike a Suzuki Gsf Bandit 1200k6 one of the last of the oil cooled, carbs bikes bought new April 2007.
Supposed to be a budget bike and the cheapest new bike I've bought in the last 15 years .
Fantastic engine, Bt 023 superb tyres, Braided hoses with sintered brake pads stop on a "tanner" (2 1/2 p)LOL. Yoshimura exhaust.
It tours it scratches it takes the mrs out on a sunny sunday.

IN 20 years time with EU legislation air bags , no mods on bikes, bikes ltd to 60mph,
not allowed to do your own servicing,50bhp limits, university degree to be able to pass your test.
spy black box attached to your nuberplate, every journey tracked by big brother.

Oh I sound like a Grumpy old man I wondered why I'm called grumpyowl party
