How easy is it ...

Recommended Posts

I change mine all the time just have a lot of patience and either a hot gun or hair dryer and do it bit by bit but watch your fingers

Dave get an hairdryer and just gently worm up the sticker before you start. It will help! thumbs

CAREFULL.

I peeled one off my (once) immaculate blue tank & brought alot of paint off with it.

Suzuki's (Bandits in particular) really do have a SHITE standard of finish.

I reckon you should leave well alone Dave, you might end up having to respray the tank mate, not really worth having to do that is it ?

How is it stuck on ?
Is it Vinyl or real carbon fibre

I've stuck my real carbon fibre tank pad on with clear silicone sticks like shit to a blanket so I would not like to try and get that off.

If Its just self adhesive vinyl as already posted hot air dryer

Listened to what you all said and after seeing Jezza's bike on Monday fancied the clear ones (not so sure now) so thought I would have a go and get the old one off affraid and make sure it wasn't marked underneath before i ordered clear, So wife is at work and got the hair dryer and in her make up thing for nail varnish remover ( gtman's/trevs) tip .

here is the out come , but not sure now if to go for clear or not confused also want to put something where my knees rub the tank too.

Thanks for all your advice salute just need to make my mind up what i want to put on now any ideas ??

I know this is not everyones cup of tea and my mate takes piss out of mine .
The 1st thing I bought for my Hayabusa was a Baglux tank cover.

They keep your tank pristine (for resale time).
They are the best way to attach a tank bag.
They are great for gripping the tank with your knees.

I know Its "Marmite" you either love or hate the look but I've also put original Suzuki chrome "S" tank badges on mine and think they look smart.

I've used one on 5 bikes now and would not be without one TBH

it would just worry me about muck getting between that and the tank and it rubbing , take it that hasn't happened to you ?

Not an issue and they take 2 mins to put on and off once used to them so most times I polish the bike I take It off and polish the tank thumbs

AS said use a hair dryer.

Star art a corner with heat peel that corner and heat then peel as you go, dont peel cold as they often leave marks. then when you put new one of heat that so it stickes better thumbs

Dave I think I have a carbon fibre tank shield on my old tank in the shed , if you want to give it a try i'll bring it over next time we meet up.

something similer to this. Its only held in place by little foam sticky pads so easily removable.
