Sad f*^in sick of not being able to get out and about im in a position where the gasket set should be here anytime soonish ive decided the ht lead wants changing so in turn the coil pack is gonna be changed mind you it does look as if its been on fire and all this waiting has got my brain in overdrive as to how i want her to look when im done and since seeing the yoshimura bike in suzukijax bye bye bike thread im using that as my inspiration..well sort of i had already planned spraying her red with black stickers etc but after seeing the aforementioned bike im changing all decals to white......i would like to say i dont normally steal other folks ideas but that is 1 sexy bike
thumbs (ive already had to explain to her in doors that yoshimura is NOT my secret lover) LaughingLaughing :lol
p.s ive just realised i dont really like how the headlight looks so its gotta go

thanks for the support guys im feelin loads better the man flu hasnt beat me this time party

as far as the bike is cocerned other than painting the tank i have got a misfire she ticks over sweet as a nut but as soon as you put it under any pressure the miss firing happens shes had new coil pack and correct spark plug (br9ecs) ive cleaned the carb and set it in accordance with the haynes manual not sure what to try next

Spark plug new also?

yes new plug aswell according to my local bike garage and the ngk website she needs a BR9ECS which i am using but i have also read on the 125 forum that she should have a BR7ES the difference between the 2 plugs is the heat range and the BR7ES is irridium

got me self some BR7ES plugs which are NOT iridium and she runs/rides better but still missfireing (not as bad though)so had the reeds out and 1 side is not seating properly so that is the next thing to replaice....its sooo annoying being so close but so far from being right

reeds replaiced and yet another plug now onto the last of a long list a BR6ES and still not quite there its now riding the best it has done seems we have sorted the missfire my mate suggested we take it to where he works and pressure test the cylinder....which we did tonight and no great suprise its down on pressure according to the haynes manual it should be 160 ± 44 PSI and we got a reading of 105PSI quite a way off the mark the general opinion of my mates is ride it till she packs up then deal with the piston and barrel but i dont lnow if i can cope with it still not being 100% its not dangerous just FU**ING Annoying

and yes im aware its a old 2 stroke so the power will be down after 20+ yrs ....just before somebody points that out lol

Well done with the perseverance on this. I think I'd have binned it long before now, or give it to someone else to finish. head banghead bang

If she's riding ok, and you'll be changing the piston etc to deal with the loss of pressure, why not ride? Gets you out and about and on the road and you can deal with it all later.

(I'm not technical and there are guys on here who know a lot more so may be worth waiting for them to pitch in) no1no1

best way is check the barrel and piston to excess the damage and hoping its no a top end seizure as that would be costly

Seized 2 stroke aint no big shakes m8, use to seize em up regular back in the day, the fixing aint the prob, its finding out why it seized and sorting that out cos when u rebored u dont want it to seize again.
Main causes, not enough two stroke oil, wrong jetting causing her to run weak, this will kill a two stroke every time, timing out, air leaks, again causing weak mixture.

Anyways, new piston/rings, oversized, bout £30, rebore and hone, £30, + gaskets, you should get the lot done for under a ton. thumbs
