Neill 0 Posted February 15, 2013 Been to see a specialist today and the good news is they have found the cause of the pain I have been suffering for the last two an a half yearsthe not quite so good news is I have to have a total hip replacementsooner rather than laterJust as the weather looks like improving theyre gonna hack me about and then i wont be able ride the bloody bike for at least 3 months or longer.need to get some riding in before the operation which i expect will be done for the middle of summer tbh not even sure of the wisdom of riding after the op may have to wait 12months, suppose i need to discuss that with the sturgeon
gravelrash 0 Posted February 15, 2013 Hope all goes well for you Neill, quite a big op but it will be worth it if it relieves the pain you've been suffering and as for the bike I can't see why you can't return to riding after the op as long as enough time is given for recovery but as mentioned best to speak to the specialist. Neill 0 Posted April 10, 2013 well been to see the surgeon today, he told me that looking at the x ray my hip is totally shot and a total replacement is necessary for me to get any quality of life back.He then offered to do the procedure this Monday 15\4\13 I said I thought this was a bit too soon ( my wife has her hand in plaster.. that will teach her to laugh at me limp)we settled on 20th may gives me a chance to fill the bike with oil etcand I can look forward to sitting out the summer with a pair of crutches to ride round on Have fun this summer and ride safe I will be thinking of you
