sin addiction

Recommended Posts

recently, i decided to really stand up and do away with my addiction to pornography and such.

but ever since then, it's been going overdrive.

this is SUCH a strong sin and i need something more powerful than human will power to get rid of it.

maybe I'm just so into it, i don't even see it as all that big a deal.

i have no Spiritual fuel to fight this.

i need prayer that whatever it takes to get rid of this sin will come about.

i love this sin more than i hate it.

Dear resolution
thank you for being open and honest about your problem. And for that: the Lord will deliver you because you have confessed it!! Pornography is something that many Christians battle with (believe it or not)...Find you someone whom you can talk to in confidence (authoritative position) and ask he/she to be accountable for you. This is something that you need prayer and deliverance from. When I read of your situation, I am reminded of a passage in the bible when Paul speaks of "wanting to do the right thing" but "evil was right there beside him". He did what he didn't want to do and he didn't do what he needed to do. We bind up the spirit of Lust and ask God to break every hindrance and yoke that is keeping you from experiencing Gods total peace over your life. Pornography may satiate your flesh's desire for a moment but you feel guilty and shameless afterwards! I stand in agreement with you that God will free your mind and give you a stronger desire for him. We pray total holiness and health to your mind. Bind up every imagination and thought that is not like God through the power (obedience to/of) his word! Please read Philippians 4:8 and Colossians 2:6-14 (meditate on it) Know that you have the mind of Christ and renew your mind daily by staying in prayer, fasting, and reading God's word.
*If you truly want deliverance you can get it! God will restore you fully if you just stand out in faith and put your trust in Him to do the work (you can't do it by yourself). Blocking harmful websites that are tempting and not getting on the computer a certain time of night may help. "resist the devil and he will flee" and "avoid every type of evil". If you don't give Satan any room to tempt you or get the glory, he doesn't have you! YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR IN CHRIST JESUS!!
Be blessed

Resolution,

You have made the first step to deliverance--confessing the problem. I affirm what Desiree says. Know that we love you, and even more important, God loves you! He actually died for every sin that we have committed and every sin that we will commit. He only asks that you come to Him, and lay it at His feet.

Know that we are praying for you!

I will stand in agreement with you as well. Jesus will and has delivered people from there addiction. He delivered me from smoking. Just remember that to God sin is sin and he does not run a tally against you.

Father,

It says in your word in Luke 10:19

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over ALL the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mark 16:17-18

And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover.

John 14:12

I say unto you, anyone who believes in me, the works that I do; he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go to the Father.

Thank you Lord for helping Resolution. Father we know that your name is above all other names and we bind the spirit of pornography in Jesus name and send it to the feet of Jesus. Father I thank you that you forgive us from all our addiction and that in place of that addiction we have the Love of the Lord poured into us to fill the gaps. Father we thank you that you cover us with the blood of Jesus and that you are covering Resolution right now. Father no weapon formed against this person will prosper. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

I remind you of these verses because we can and do have ALL authority through the name of Jesus to free others and ourselves from the wiles of the enemy. Hang in there, the Lord is doing a work in you and you will be delivered. He freed me from Nicotine. Just remember we love you like Christ loves you. God bless and talk to you soon.

Love in Christ,

Connie :bighug:

Resolution,

We are fervently praying for you!

In the meanwhile, do what it is you CAN do to fight this. Get around someone who you can be accountable to. When you have the urge to look at pornography, call the accountability person and tell them so he/she can help walk you through it. The Word says we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. Confess this Word when you feel weak.

It will be an uphill battle, but through the power of God and His Word, you can beat this!

We love you!

Its going to take patience--deliverance doesn't happen over night! Salvation is a process. Just do what you need to do and keep your heart guarded and right towards God! The only way you can be delivered is to acknowledge to God that you need help. keep praying, keep fasting, and keep being around "spiritually minded" people that will help you in this fight. You have to keep at this until its no longer a problem for you!

Resolution,

First...you have to recognize that there is NOTHING YOU can do to deliver yourself. Yes, there are steps you can do to not put yourself in the situation, but the ultimate deliverance comes from the Lord. When Jesus died on the cross, he took all addictions to the cross. You have to see the power of the cross STRONGER than the addiction you are facing. You are the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ which means God IS NOT looking at "Resolution"...but he is looking at you THROUGH Jesus. It's the condemnation that you are dealing with right now. We have been told in Romans 8 that there is NOW no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus!!!

Like Desiree said, be patient...after you have done all that you can do (coming to the end of yourself and your works) then STAND and see the deliverance of the Lord. He hears your prayers and you have to see yourself already delivered from it. Pornography is not more powerful than God and "IT" can't separate you from the Love of God. When the urge comes to turn on the TV or get on the computer...PRAY!!!! Be real and honest with the Lord and let him know how you are feeling and watch HIM do the work.

I'm praying for you. I have a former boyfriend who was addicted to porn really bad, but when he got a hold of the revelation of what Jesus did for him on the cross, the pull that it had on his heart began to loosen up. It will be okay...I promise...just TRUST in the LORD because HE IS FAITHFUL!!!!! flower

Resolution -

I wanted to share the following website with you in case you're not aware of it - Every Man's Battle.

http://www.everymansbattle.com/

The website has information on everything from articles, books, workshops, counseling, etc. to assist in battling with and being victorious over porn addiction. Everything is handled in a loving, Christian, non-judgmental way.

The ministry is under Steve Arterburn (www.newlife.com), a Christian counselor who has a radio ministry and gives workshops on a lot of different topics.

I wanted to offer you this resource as a tangible way of taking that third step in your battle with porn. (1st step was confessing that you are addicted, 2nd step was praying to God for deliverance from the addiction)

All the best to you, Brother in Christ, we are praying for you and for your victory!

this happens alot, I'll wake up from a nap with the urge.

i used to pray and pray and pray, i used to want to be saved. but god never answered me.

i even prayed to receive the holy spirit, and nothing happened then either.

This is for real.

God is NOT doing anything.

I've fallen away from grace.

I've squandered grace by constant usage of pornography.

my flesh LOOOOOVES it so much!!!

my body, my mind, are all decayed.

I've had a terrible addiction to unhealthy food and pornography.

and now i'm feeling the effects.

^^^ but AGAIN, before all that, it still remains that God NEVER responded to me in the first place.

It is by grace we are saved. My body and mind are all decayed too. None of us are worthy......no not one... We all fall short of the glory of God. When Christ died in our place we became free from the curse of the law and free from condemnation. God will answer but we must be patient and wait on Him. He knows your struggles before we tell Him what they are. He loves us with an everlasting love, in spite of ourselves. Hang in there, I am still praying for you.

God bless,

Apparently it's up to US to do away with our sins.

I've prayed for the Holy Spirit, I've prayed for a heart of Repentence, NOTHING.

God enjoys me being addicted to all this.

I've wasted salvation, if I ever had it in the first place.

I've viewed pornography for so long man, it's amazing.

All because of a Biological need, does all this 'Extra Unwanted Evil' come along and ruin someone's life.

Res,

It is up to us to trust that God has forgiven us of our sins. You already have the Holy Spirit....You need not pray to receive Him...He is given to us a promise from Christ when we are saved. The Holy Spirit came to convict the WORLD of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement. However when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He speaks; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is mine and declare it to you. John 16:8-15.

God wants us to be from every bondage. "Whom the son sets free is free indeed". Your salvation is never wasted and if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only son of the Father, that he died for your sins by becoming a man and dieing on the cross and rose again on the 3rd day and sits on the right hand of God the Father, then you are saved. You know when Christ died he died for all sin.....the sin of every man and woman.....he paid the price so we could be free.....we can never repay the debt....he died for every sin ever committed....the sins at the time for all humanity, the sins that had taken place prior to that time and all the sins that would ever take place in the world. That is why in the garden he sweat tears of blood, the battle was fierce spiritually and he paid the ultimate price....God wants us free and he wants us to enjoy the life he has given us. He loves us with an everlasting love....when the world rejects you, he will not reject you.

The enemy is a liar and a thief. He comes in and tries to convince us that Jesus love is not real and that He enjoys watching us suffer.....no my friend He does not......He weeps when we weep, and He wants to carry us through every obstacle and trouble, but we have to willing to let Him do it! Jesus overcame the world so we would not have to....We have to be willing to surrender to Jesus and make Him Lord of our lives.

I will continue to pray for you.....Read this scripture.......

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

God bless

Connie

Resolution,

It is up to us to take our cross to the feet of Jesus with fear and trembling. We are to trust God to handle our problem and to deliver us from the hand of the enemy. The biological need is a lie of the enemy. The enemy is a liar and a thief. We have ALL power against the enemy through Jesus Christ.
He is faithful and He will do it but he is not a Genie in a bottle. He will do it in His time and for His glory. The very fact that you are telling us your problem tells me that you have a Repentant heart. So that means the Lord has heard you and answered your prayer. God wants none of us in bondage. He came that we would be free!

Let me ask you these questions:

1-Did you Accept that you are a sinner in need of God?

2-Do you Believe that Jesus died and rose again for our sins?

3-Do you Confess that Jesus is Lord?

If the answer is yes then you are saved and your salvation is secure. God does not waste time. None of us are a waste of time to Him! We are His special treasure!

God bless,

Connie

another thing, please pray about the condition of the computers I've used to commit this sin.

i've been REALLY careless with things that aren't even mine, i've used the family computer and my dad's laptop to view pornography.

he needs them BOTH to run his business, he works from his computers, and over the years, I've just totally messed up them.

there's no telling what kind of spyware, viruses, etc...

and my dad NEEDS security when it comes to his work and his computers, because of the kind of work he does, he's always sending out important information, financial information, etc...

it's alot worse than just affecting ME.

porn brings viruses to the COMPUTER, but in a spiritual, sense, it brings all kinds of nasty things into THE MIND.
