Proof of God 1 Posted January 1, 2011 I want to be more structured. I want to have more structure to my everyday life. The two most important areas are:* I want to wake up and study/spend time with God FIRST!* I want to make a list of things that need to be done and do themIf I can do these two things with excellence I will be happy.
lola21st 2 Posted January 1, 2011 I want to improve in two areas so that I can more effectively serve the Lord both in the short and long term:- I want to have regular God time in the mornings which will mean I have to wake up earlier so there's a certain amount of sacrifice that I'm going to have to 'woman' up and accept as I treasure my sleep time...this will be my version of a sacrifice of praise...- I really need to start respecting my body as the Holy temple that it is. This is more than about me needing to lose # pounds - it's more about eating whole foods, reducing the processed/junk foods in my diet and becoming more active so that I'm more energized, and overall more healthy so that I can live a long life (if the Lord is in agreement) to enjoy my current and future family and continue be in service to Him. He's told me that I'll live to be at least twice my current age so I'd like to be a strong and healthy 50 something...
Cholette 0 Posted January 1, 2011 I'm going out AGAIN to deeper waters and casting my nets so I can gather all that God has for me in this NEW DECADE! I tried before, but it didn't work. I'm going back again and say what Peter said in Luke 5..."on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]."

This is actually exactly what I was thinking when I made my resolution! Thanks for using all the words necessary to say what I too meant! Happy New Year, sis! Jasmine 0 Posted January 1, 2011 I will seek Jesus more (it's like hunting a wild animal. To Jesus: I'm gonna get you Jesus. You can't run from me! No more hide-and-seek. As soon as I get You, I'll be happy, victorious, and the best dag-nabbit hunter of all time!!!). Finally finish my script!Lose a huge amt. or weight!
Proof of God 1 Posted January 1, 2011 Let's form a support group! We all have the same resolutions! I also decided I want to eat as little as possiblel in the processed foods department. Unfortunately, owning a fast food restaurant makes that a challenge so this year I'm adding healthy options to my menu.
Jasmine 0 Posted January 1, 2011 Yup! That sounds cool! Mia did you see the thing about Jesus that I said??

Proof of God 1 Posted January 1, 2011 Oh.....Lurdys........ Got any ideas how to about this here thingy?
lola21st 2 Posted January 1, 2011 I had a feeling that was coming... Let me on it and see what come up...
Jasmine 0 Posted January 2, 2011 Maybe, it should be full of testimonies of people who searched for God and found him and also stories of born-again christians who "hunted" for Jesus and got the "mother-load" (blessings, joy, emotions, revelations, or even God-encounters). and how-to on how to search for God. and an explanation on how to meditate on scripture and plead the blood of Jesus(of course if they need to get trash and demons out of their system). Encouraging teachings can help too.
Proof of God 1 Posted January 2, 2011 You might be on to something. I guess the first way to keep moving forward is to check into a forum especially designed for this purpose. Hearing how others are succeeding is surely a good encouragement and if we are making it a priority to come together for this purpose we are sure to become inspired by the good news of others~!Good ideas, J!
Jasmine 0 Posted January 2, 2011 Thanks, Mia! What should we name the forum? "To Find God" "If you Hunger and Thirst for God" "Hungry for God?"
Jasmine 0 Posted January 2, 2011 Yea here's another idea! How about a monthly prayer thing-mahujig! Each month we pledge to pray to God everyday without ceasing. Now I know prayer can be request, but how about prayer that focuses on actually spending time with God instead of petitions (but would still ask for protection, guidence whatever we want or need but on the side). And we could fast, but we would fast from thing we indulge in (like i-pods) and replace that time with praying to God!!!!!
Proof of God 1 Posted January 2, 2011 lol I like it. I can't fast from my iPod. Its got 200 Joyce Meyer Podcasts on it and is 100% God stuff. IT actually helps me focus on God.BUT I like the principle idea! Fast from distractions!
Jasmine 0 Posted January 2, 2011 Yea good!!!!!! But what about the title thing
Proof of God 1 Posted January 2, 2011 Right now I'm going to take a hot bath by candlelight, with a bar of Lindt chocolate (only eating a piece or two), a remaining glass of champagne from my New Year's bottle, and Joyce Meyer on my laptop.Time getting into God's presence doesn't have to be painful. No, it doesn't. But does it have to be that pleasurable? Personally I would just be in my room, shut the lights, put a lamp on, get under the covers on my bed, speak to Jesus and imagine he's laying down on the other side (I have a queen sized bed!).
Proof of God 1 Posted January 2, 2011 You know J, anytime I've been in God's presence it's been the most pleasureable experience in my life..... and honestly, I can't think of a better way to spend the evening with God (actually worshipping in chur ch is my favorite) and He is my Husband after all and what better way to spend an evening with your husband? Things like this, actually are out of the box ways of spending time with God that make it great.Did you know what the tithe was supposed to be spent on? Whatever your heart desired. Strong drink, food, wine, etc... whatever your heart desired to come and celebrate in God's presence. We need more of that and less of the kneeling on rice philosphies. Cholette 0 Posted January 2, 2011 I'm liking the bath with the champagne...just sayin...

Jasmine 0 Posted January 2, 2011 I know! I'm just saying that was weir to me. All the time, I've heard of kneeling but not bathing.
Proof of God 1 Posted January 2, 2011 Honestly, the outpouing of all my prophetic gifts came in the shower. I spent 21 days fasting and started every day out by praying in the shower for about forty five minutes. I chose to pray in the shower because I was less likely to get distracted and go about doing something else. Now, I realize that I can spend time with God anywhere and everywhere, and in the bathtub is where I have ALWAYS heard from Him the most so if it ain't broke................
Jasmine 0 Posted January 2, 2011 The Shower! Personally that is the last place I'd want to talk to him. There's nothing wrong with it, but when I talk to God I imagine him being there next to me. That is just not a good place for that!
Proof of God 1 Posted January 2, 2011 God is with you in the shower whether you are thinking about him or not. AND Adam and Eve were naked and fellowshipping with God until the devil ruined it.
lola21st 2 Posted January 2, 2011 To me whatever works is cool....and when we think about it, the shower/bath shouldn't feel unnatural...Garden of Eden-esque...Anyway, am just coming back to this thread after seeing a movie with my son. My first thought was to have a set chat time that could be used for prayer but the various time zones make that challenging. I can't really think of anything outside of a forum (which I think is a GREAT idea), so I'm definitely on board with that. Thanks, I was just thinking about the remaining champagne as well and a (bubble) bath and champagne sound great - so does the Lindt...that's my favorite store bought chocolate brand...
