I think it is a yeast extract...people have it on sandwiches and toast and such...personally I think it tastes like something has crawled in the jar and died a decayed...and it smells like it as well lol

They even advertise it as: Marmite, you'll love it or hate it, as there is never an inbetween, people either love it, or like me and Kasi, cannot stand it
