  1. Right folks ive got the chance of a cbr 400 the nc23 tri arm 1988, its in nice condition, good fairings, newish tyres, new chain sprockets, oct test, sep tax. 22,000 miles on the clock. And he wants £950.
Do you reckon thats a good price?.
I only want the bike for 3 month, just to run down the rest of my insurance policy till i get a bigger bike ive got my eye on.
Ive had a good look round, and parkers etc wont value such old bikes, but the fireblade forums seem to hold them at around that price from what ive seen.
    Help appreciated thanks.

  2. its red, and dont worry about insurance, been riding for comin up 4 yrs, got my no claims, the best price i have is, £368 t p f t.
my current insurers wont swap from my old bandit to a bird because apparently a b6 is a learner bike and a b bird is to powerful for someone my age! i told him to get stuffed in polite mans english, but... my insurance that is still going for my sold bandit finishes in july so three months left, i cant jack it in as i,ll lose my no claims ive built up, so i may be gettin something around the 600/750cc range to tide me over for the next few months and hopefully the bird will still be up for sale, then i,ll swap insurers and get the bird. Thats the plan anyway. I nearly went mntal at the insurance guy on the phone, patronising prick. I could be a flaming gp rider for all he knows. i wish.......

  3. Right ive got the chance of a cbr superblackbird 1100, its in good nick, done 86,000 miles, new rad, chain sprockets, service etc, t and t till june, and decent tread on tyres. Hes wanting 1400 but said he would consider a lower offer. I took it out for a test ride friday and it runs sweet and is quick!!!
I looked at them a few months back but decided not to cus they were all around 2.5k.
    Its a w reg so early 2000.
So what do you think, its someone i know and he aint advertising, i think its a bargain. pint

  4. Thats a bargain. To anyone whos interested, i have personally tested these make trousers to the limit, mine used to get used in rain, snow , wind, sleet, and freezing temps, and they are warm comfortable and dry. Fantastic buy. I now use mine when i go sledging in the winter, thats how waterproof and warm they are thumbs

  5. Well the bandits gone, had someone look at it today, and hes picking it up sat. So thats the end of my bandit life for the time being. Sad but looking for something within the next two month, cant afford owt yet though. hopefully will be getting a tl s but i,ll see.

  6. yeh thanks for the info alan, as i say its just sumat to play on this year, no big miles etc. And itchy, ive got 3yrs at the mo, will have 4 in september, bike insurance is good as regards drops in price each yr, mines gone from, £400 on a moped at 16, to 180 with 2yrs on a b6.

  7. What about self employment? im just starting out and ive got loads of work, theres always folk out there want work doing imo. You just have to look for it. Im a joiner as well by the way, well a bench joiner, but have a fews yrs site experience on and off. Although i have no comitments, so i can do it, even though i make a half decent wage. If you want work best thing to do is get the yellow pages out, and local paper and ring every company you find in the industry you want to work in, i got laid of 3 1/2 yrs ago, and found work in two weeks. Literally ny ringing evryone, i got knocked back countless times, but in the end got somewhere. just a thought.... thumbs
