Hi. I'm new to the book club, but read voraciously . I'm also addicted to audiobooks so I can listen while I walk my dogs So, my book of the month is "The Reader" by Bernhard Schlink. I haven't seen the movie, but the audiobook is beautifully narrated and is a wonderful. I dont want o ruin the story for you, but the book tells the story of 15 year old Michael and 36 year old Hanna who meet in West Germany in 1958. They begin a relationship which includes the ritual of him reading to her each time they meet. One day Hanna suddenly disappears from Michaels life. Eight years later he finds her again in unexpected circumstances. He makes some horrifying discoveries about her life and the motivation behind the ritual of his reading to her....... Granted, it's not a "cheer you up" book, but I loved it and I hope you do too.

My advice...leave watching sporting events well alone if no alcohol is involved LOL Of course, I think the reverse could be said if you're playing in sporting events CHup - can you send some grilled chees with bacon over my way please. My Baked spud just came out of the over (after more than 1 hour) and is ROCK hard in the middle

Well, I'm pleased for you Gill. Nothing like a live sporting event - especially with Corp Hosp!! We usually get to go to the Golf events (one way or another) but lately we've been to busy to accept ! ******handing over margaritas and wine***** (weird : when I type "<" any text I type after that disappears!)
