My New Project

Just picked this up at a veeeeeery good price....sat in a garage for 7 yrs... guy snapped a belt and dropped valves on front pot, bought all the bits to fix it then didn`t...his loss, my gain

Ok so i can`t do much at the mo as i had a hand op a coupla weeks ago, so son and i pulled all the duke stuff out of the garage to see what i`d got



Decided to hang some of the bits on to see what it`ll look like finished



Son then decided to start cleaning it a bit



Waiting for my mate (previous owner) to root out front barrel and a shed load of nuts and bolts then we`ll start.... think i might keep it std at the mo tho

looks to be a clean bike,shouldnt need much if your keeping it standard.

Keep looking at both front end and single sided swinger thinkin they`ll look good on my bronze 12 I love you ..... muuuuuust resist Twisted Evil

OK so its been a month or so and i`ve been a bit busy on other things...
big end, little end and conrod checked...ok
got missing barrels off mate.... ok
piston checked and barrels fitted.... ok
head on and torqued down...ok ( what a pain !! special tool needed)
timing belts next i think.... not looking forward to that i can tell you Sad

anyway now looks like this.... it is progressing..... honest Very Happy






Gonna be busy this weekend too....chain n sprox, new back tyre and jack-up kit back on the bandit ready for re-tax next friday (1st Apr)

Haha... dunno yet mate... just scary i think.... i`ll probably go at it like bull in chinashop, lose my rag and then get mrs bonzo to read haynes manual to me slowly so i can do it properly fofl

Thanks.... got the exhaust on on saturday, only to discover on sunday that one of the mounting brackets needs a bit of welding up,
so briefly looked like this
