madsod 0 Posted November 11, 2012 In the right hands 165 to 170 mph , about the same as my RF

Tony nitrous 0 Posted November 11, 2012 B-Kings top end restriction is set lower than the Busa and all the others. It'll pull something like 155mph in 5th and 6th ( Restricted) although youllSee a lot higher on the optomistic speedo. The beauty of a Suzuki is it costs nothing to derestrict if you have a smart mate with a lap top. Stock ECU "Click click done!" No TRE's or soldering in resisters anymore. No TRE's or soldering in resisters anymore. on a serious note.I've had a "boostbysmith" gizmo fitted to the busa , instead of having at tre that works fools the ecu into thinking its in 5th all the time, the gizmo lifts only the 5th gear restriction so all the mappings right for all the other gears and no lumpy neutral tickover. probably does something similar for the bking.Yet to have the balls to check it out though. http://www.boostbysmith.com/
Tony nitrous 0 Posted November 11, 2012 ECU flashing cleans up and can reset any gearand remove individual gear restrictions and any speed limiters. It can turn the ECU into what the Stock bike should have had.
jezza 0 Posted November 11, 2012 I looked into ecu flashing however people are few and far between and I've also heard about some fried ecu's , once a ecu is flashed I also believe its not possible to revert them back to standard. so the item thats fitted on mine should allow it to redline in 6th should I be brave enough to do so , also easily removed if wanted. in future I May keep an eyeout for a spare ecu to play with. Tony nitrous 0 Posted November 11, 2012 ECU flashing is the only true way to correct a bike. Anything else is an unwanted piggy back systemLike a power commander or is just somethingThat's trying to fool the stock system like a TRE. Can't see any reason you can't flash a stock set of Data back in. ECU flashing will reset and Adjust far far beyond anything added on can do.

Tony nitrous 0 Posted November 11, 2012 .... of course, it only works if you have a good bike to start with...Late model GSXR, Hayabusa, B-King.
jezza 0 Posted November 11, 2012 I have a feeling tts at silverstone do this type of work , I know I could quite easily buy a ecu flasher however as im not clever enough to use it .like I said I may get a spare ecu and try and get one flashed in the future .When i did purchase the item from boost he did recommend getting it flashed however like I said I'm a tad worried after hearing some of the problems people have had with theirs ,Which is probably more to do with user error/lack of knowledge of the person flashing the ecu.I was thinking of going power commander route however if I do get the ecu done it will save me a bit of cash and messing about .dunno food for thought! ptolemyx 0 Posted November 12, 2012 Jezza, like me you're cautious about frying the ECU - which has happened to several people reflashing. A cheaper alternative to the Power Commander is the Healtech FI TunerPro with which you can adjust all 8 injectors, it just doesn't have the PCVs expansion facility for autotune/quickshifter etc. a good dyno man and supplier is Tim Blakemore Racing in Bristol. With the FI TunerPro and XTRE "piggyback" system - which works just fine - my B-King is up from stock 164bhp to 186bhp; that's with exhaust and airbox work. The bike runs dead smooth with better power and torque at 99% of throttle/rev combinations; 9.88et@143mph and top speed (on a private road of course) of 174mph. That's a true speed indicated, courtesy of another "piggyback" the Speedohealer, which I've calibrated by satnav. Just think what you might get on the Busa?Old and Disgraceful
Tony nitrous 0 Posted November 12, 2012 I know LOTS of guys flashing Busa's with no problems, can't think of anyone who has ever "fried" one.I have power commanders on some of my bikes, They are better than the competition that has very limited functions, but even a PC5 can't do a fraction of the functions a stock ECU can. When tuners and the public's knowledge of "flashing"improves folk will realise how poor their band-aidtype tuning fix's really are.
