Oldfart 0 Posted December 5, 2013 Its ok providing the databases are updated quickly (which at the moment they are not) I am betting a lot of people get stopped. At least with the old disc it was visible proof. But they say you can pay monthly when it starts because of the high cost of some car taxes. Evidently the Govt have shot themselves in the foot. By putting car tax in bands according to how 'green' your car is people are dropping to smaller taxation classes so they are losing revenue so it could be a good way in for a stealth tax!!! bladerunner 0 Posted December 5, 2013 but what happens when you buy or sell a car or bike. how are you supposed to know if its been taxed for a year or being paid monthly, the seller could tell you its got 12 months tax on it then you find out the hard way it hasn't. For a "small fee" you'll be able to check how/ when it's taxed. What was Den saying about a "stealth tax"?

If they dont then go buy something else. Simples.
