Congrats Leo, that's a nice haul on the lottery! Not sure about the seeds, my PS just seems glitchy all around. I think handrail is right BG, unless you mean one of the spindels for the bannister (the upright sticks?) Aaaw Piggly, that sounds cute really, although when you can't find them, it can be annoying. Oh Wish, we used to be addicted to Judge J, but then we moved on.

Whatever works for you Frannie. Wish and I both seem to get a bit of free time after 4.15pm here. I stop what I'm doing and put TV on, and wait for IMOM to get back at 4.35pm, and then the two of us watch some TV, chat and I stay here up until it's time to cook. Going to watch Coach Trip on Ch4 Wish, Brendan the tour guide makes me smile so much. IMOM is giving Socks his 'mad five'(minutes) with a toy mouse tied to a very long piece of string - always very amusing too. HI LEO and how was your day?

Oh, I didn't think of that. Mind, I'm keen for the chap who's been working here to look at the leak, because of the bath being fully tiled in, and not having any spare tiles We know he's carefully and neat and he comes up with good solutions. We're with the Halifax and have been ever since we bought the house 9 years ago.

I don't know, I think our fabrics wrinkle more in the wash. I do use a dryer but try not to, as the electricity costs so much. BG, am just having my coffee before I start. I have all my chores to get through, plus clearing up in the dining room and ringing a builder. The guy who's doing our bathroom seems to think he can come and look at the leak, on Thursday - but the whole ceiling is going to have to be taken down and replaced. We're going to be very lucky if it comes to less than £750 to repair and replace

I also have to go and tackle a pile of washing up - gaah I miss the dishwasher, they rang with my next engineer's appointment for NEXT Monday Boogs I do keep saving the game - it wont let me get any more today off you or Wish, so will have to try tomorrow. Wish, that was lovely I'm going to get some coffee BG, thanks for the offer

I wondered where you'd got to! I was just trying to work out the maths you see, try and see what's best. Presumably you can't sell the car while you still owe on it anyway? So, the book value of it working is £1,500 but it's going to cost at least $2,000 to fix? That way you're 'out of pocket' as it were, by how much you owe on it, plus the $500 difference, right? But - you then at least have a working car. You need to try and find out from the garage (workshop) if they think the car's going to stand you in good stead if you spent the money on it though...worst case would be spending that money, and then having something else go wrong down the line a little way. Otherwise, you try and get the money to pay off $X that you owe on the car, and then sell it, as it is, for about $500 - in which case you're out of pocket by $Y (whatever the figures add up to) and have no vehicle. Would that also mean you couldn't get a loan on replacing your car with another one? Actually, sorry, you might not want to talk about all this in the open here...just trying to help you work out the practical issues

Did you get a fixed price to mend it? Is it less than $1000? How about your employer? would they advance a loan and take payments out of your wages? (give you a bit longer to spread the cost) or the garage would they take a payment plan? (am just wracking my brains for useful ideas, or at least to rule out ideas) good girl - I quite like my voice when it goes husky too, but not the soreness or nose troubles.

Hi BG, keep up your fluid intake and flush those bugs out! Mmm, what to do? 1. consider how much money you could sell the car for in its current condition -v- how much you owe on the outstanding payments 2. consider how much it will cost to fix, and whether or not its going to be worth doing, or, is something else likely to happen to it - in which case it'd be throwing good money after bad 3. look into re-financing... like Dawn, I don't know about how it works over there, but here, for people on very low incomes, social services can sometimes organise 'crisis loans' to help tide people over bad times. Kijo, do you think it's worth repairing this car? or would you be better off selling it for what you can get for it? (once you decide that, then we have to work out how you afford what you need to do)
