  1. since the rebuild my left grip is really loose, glued it on twice with renthal grip glue, works for about a day then goes loose again, what can i try that will make the bugger stick, ive got an mot test on thursday and wanna sort it before then. Ta Mark.
  2. hi Gaz, im good matey you? think i added about 30-35mm to mine, gonna get it powdercoated the same colour as the frame. mine is going in for an mot on thursday hope she passes, good luck with yours let us know how you get on. Mark.
  3. hope you all have a lovely time this weekend, shame i cant be there ,i will be working but expect plenty of pics!
  4. so managed to do a bit more today, here is a pic before i put another lot of weld on another once id put some more weld on and chopped off the kickstand. and then the finished article just need to weld on my longer kickstand then get it blasted and powdercoated
  5. yep i do, my list is as follows. powdercoated frame braided lines renthals hayabusa rear shock. braced swingarm. progressive springs up front digital speedo scorpion end can and stainless headers nearly every bolt stainless. Apart from the important ones lol everything else is aesthetic changes that just make the bike look good. lots of polishing etc.
  6. i was thinking about an adjustable one too, wouldent be as hard as you think to make . dont take any measurements from my bike as im running a hayabusa rear shock using the bottom suspension mount Ie centre stand frame mount and custom dog bones, couldent tell you how much its raised by . its all a bit custom ( in other words i havent got a f ing clue!) once its done ill get it blasted and powdercoated as the paint is already wearing off my one and that was 2 pack
  7. he is almost done restoring it just got the wheels to lace up and blast and paint the frame.
  8. gaz see here for update on the stand, dont want to blog your thread /t2521-longer-side-stand#29084 that james is lovely, my dad is rebuilding a 1949 rigid bantam pic is here (before restoration) http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a297/moondust_crust/170808010copy.jpg dont know what im gonna do next after the kawasaki still loads of ideas floating round my head. oh on the thought of nickel instead of chrome i know of a good company. more pics please..........
  9. so since i finished rebuilding the bandit its had a bit of a lean to it since i jacked the back end up abit, so thought i would buy a cheap standard side stand from egay and lengthen it. only have the one photo due to me being lazy, but basically i cut it in half underneth where the spring mounts, otherwise you will need a longer spring and your into another world of pain. its a solid stand which makes it easier so i drilled an 8mm hole in the foot end and again in the other half. found some 8mm steel and tacked it in place. ive since filled the rest of the hole with weld all the way round and flatted it off ,will get some more pics 2morrow, still needs some work but its getting there. also need to lengthen the foot rest that you kick it down with as sometimes i find it difficult (getting old ) so will update 2morrow and sorry for ranting on lol
  10. jeez gaz you could have cleaned it before taking some pics coming on a treat matey, you have done a great job, so whats this other project i hear on the grapevine, care to elaborate..........
  11. thats not good , think you can hire them, can see why you have put it off! was bad enough drilling the holes to bolt mine down.
  12. i used a chisel and a hammer when i put my other anchor in, wear gloves and eye protection though .
  13. well i have got a ground anchor for the back of the bike and wanted one for the front, so contacted this chap on evil bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Security-wall-ground-anchor-/230645871063?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35b390b1d7 he didnt have what i wanted but said he could make me one to my spec. so here it is its massive , that is a pound coin next to it so you can see the size! its 10mm steel with x4 bolt holes in the base . bolted it down using these shear off bolts http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140574771636 chap who made the anchor for me i cant praise enough i got it made and delivered for £24 and its much better quality than the other rubbish on ebay.
