Last year, same bikes, £500.. Hopefully can get it down to around £700 but even so that's a rip off when my first big bike ( bandit ) 5 years ago i paid £250 to insure it with no ncb. Don't think they realise, the more they charge the more non insured drivers there will be and the more the prices will go up.

Just getting some quotes for my bike insurance. For the zed alone only 3 companies want to insure me and they range from £1,100 up to £1,500!!!! All because there classing shit like "crash bungs, engine cases and radiator covers" as a god damn performance mod!!! No wonder so many people drive/ride without insurance or don't tell them the truth about there mods!

I'm delighted, but surprised, that a bloke your age is interested in retro styled bikes. Try one out, if you get the chance, especially the Thruxton 900, E.F.I. You will be surprised how lively it is. Yes you're correct about the alloy tarnishing, and the spokes,rusting... vigilance and an oily rag is the answer,--always was the old Rocker way, and is still true to this day; a major advantage these days is the construction and technology is superb i.e.(no oil leaks for instance. I guess as an authentic 'Old-Scrote' I am returning to the days of my youth, without fooling myself I'm still race track material...and I love the Cafe-Racer scene . I've never been without a bike, the one in the picture is no:23 on me list....loved 'em all (Thuxton next) Went out on a T100 Bonneville with the 2-1 arrow full system without baffle, lively little thing that deffo makes you grin! Always loved cafe racers which is why i wanted the Thruxton ( Bonneville was the only bike they had as a demo at the time )

meerkat pictures are my favourite they are good, how did you get them to turn out like that is it using different filters/lenses ect ect Sigma 70-300mm lens on macro, Sony Alpha A230 set on 'A' and the contrast boosted on the camera itself. no editing on software ( well watermark ) Only filter i had on that day was the UV filter to stop the lens from getting scratched. Have them on every lens i own lol

wasn't happy with other place and as we all know, each dyno is different!! but, this is where the mivv's were setup on the z1000 and the BHP came out exactly the same. 6,900 miles: 125.31BHP 21,000 miles: 125BHP Running eco mapping for better MPG 8 years old and still producing more than it did when it left the factory, with just cans and filter. Torque is still at the 70 mark with the new cans but the power curve is pretty much as smooth as possible with these engines

Had the zed back on the dyno today, was running a tad rich and had a funny spot around 4-6k but fixed ( and now between the revs theres more torque and power! ) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151429023423787 <-- short sound bite of it being thrashed lol Recorded in the waiting room, next door to the garage, dyno in a little room inside the garage! so as you can probs tell it was bloody loud ( with baffles as well! )
