Whats the fastest indicated speed you've been
E.goldstein replied to flange's topic in The Pub "Tinker and Budget"
I’ve had an indicated 165 and still pulling two up with both pans and top box on with the BMW K12s, not to sure that most Speedo’s are accurate enough to give a true reading but at that speed who cares. So far I have not found enough room or courage to find the top end on the BM; I would love to have another go down at Bruntingthorpe proving ground. I had my old ZXR1200s Kawk flat out in top down the runway at Bruntingthorpe just a shade under 175. The big problem with a muscle bike is the air resistance that slows you down too much, over 80 and the drag coefficient starts to have a bigger and bigger impact. Just look at what Suzuki had to make the Hayabusa look like to get it to go 189mph and that’s with 197bhp! Lets face it it’s not big or clever to do that sort of speed on the public roads but Hell it’s sure a Buzz! E.Goldsiten “They are watching you” -

So you just won multi millions on the Lotto now what? What ten bikes would you go and get to stick in you newly built Garage with a glass wall onto the living room? This is the order I would be spending my money and why. 1. Y2K motorcycle “just coz it’s got a turbine engine” 2. Yamaha TZ750 “for scaring the $h!t out of myself” 3. Yamaha TZ500 “just in case I need another buzz” 4. Benelli tornado “not for riding but just to look at” 5. Honda NR750 “just to strip down and have the engine sat on show” 6. Aprilia RSV 4 “track day’z and posing” 7. BMW K1300s “every day” 8. KTM RC8 R 2011 “track day’z and posing” 9. Ducati Streetfighter s “for being a loon on” 10. Triumph Bonneville T100 “for old fashioned motorcycling” E.goldstein “they are watching you”

Ok in short do you what to do it? If you like what you do and you think you can keep doing it keep at it however; if you want the change and you think you can do it go for it! Tell you bosses the truth say you’re not sure, but you are very VERY interested in the opportunity, and see if you can do it for a month or so. It never hurts to be honest. Polishing stuff it’s a “dirty job but some ones got to do it”! I hate polishing stuff but if you’re doing Aluminium or Stainless steal get a big electric motor and a lot of polishing mops, watch out stuff gets hot mighty quick when you’re using an electric motor. About ten years ago I polished a GSXR 1100 frame and swing arm I burnt two drills, the Dremmal things are good for getting into the tight sports. E Goldstein “They are watching you”

Hi have been back since Tuesday however; I am training two people to take the job I do so it’s looking like the eight month contract I started in February 2010 is about to come to an end at the end of this month. I have a few days Holiday to take so I am going to take a few days out to find my next job or contract and the way the job market is looking it’s looking like another contract! Over the past year I have been looking to train as a motorcycle instructor so I may pull away from IT and do that for a bit until the IT market picks up. E.Goldstein “there watching you”

We did go but only up to Uppingham for a Coffee however; I got a text saying that some of the lads we went to Spain with 2010, were going to brave the Brass Monkey run at Coalville, so I dropped my partner at home and went up to the Vic at Coalville. Oh My Gosh I was cold by the time I got up to the Vic, even with the heated grips on full. Still a coffee and a stand round the fire helped a bit; then out on the potter round with about 150 bikes back for hot soup then back home for about 4pm. The bird bath in the back garden was still frozen when I put the bike in the workshop at 4pm! Still one day off the sofa in 11 not bad E.Goldstein “They are watching you

Hopefully you have all recovered from the hedonistic indulgences of last night! To be honest I was being a bit optimistic with the weather however; if it’s looking dry I think I’ll be going out for a bit, if I sit in front of the TV much longer I’ll never be able to leave the settee again! So if you do get a rush of blood to the head feel free to pitch up at Fosse Park. E.Goldstein “They are watching you”

Well after weeks of bad weather it’s looking like this Sunday could be a bright dry but cold day, would anyone be interested in getting out for a few hours pottering round Rutland/ Leicestershire? If you’re interested, I do have a nice easy run it’s about 65 miles with a stop for coffee, I was thinking of setting off if the snow / sleet, fog and rain holds off from the Asda petrol station at Fosse Park at say 10:30am. Route: Fosse Park, A6 Oadby, Stoughton, Houghton on the Hill, Tilton on the Hill, Braunston, Empingham, Edith Weston, Oakham, Round Rutland Water, Uppingham, “Coffee”, Knob Hill Road “yes it is a place”, Kibworth Harcourt and Home E.Goldstein “They are watching you”
