Hi Eddie and welcome aboard

@Chadatious wrote:Okay so i had my tuono clutch bled when serviced to see if it stopped the snatching into gear and it didnt work so ive got a brand new oberon slave cylinder on the way. but lee at motoworks has used blue clutch fluid? do i need to use blue or does normal dot4 do the same? why has he used blue? ive never seen it before
The blue-ness itself doesn't make any operational difference Chad so any DOT4 will do, the biggest advantage of different coloured fluid is to make it easier to see when the old stuff is flushed out when renewing. Obviously some fluids are better performing than others but that's down to the specs not the colour.

Personally, no. I've never heard of PZ-Racing, so if they are just a Chinese copy then I wouldn't want to be paying 45 quid for them.
Secondly, I'll never ever ever buy owt off ebay that has "not" in the title, no matter how cheap - as I wouldn't want to give money to a mouth-breathing pond life, but that's just a personal quirk -
Happy Birthday Matt

The hoses will look good Dave, and esy to fit yourself, too
ASV or Pazzo seem to be the levers of choice for non-brembo applications. -
Keep the updates coming mate

Squirrel in a tree (488) closely followed by the hare (810) for me mate.

Brake cleaner here, better than hairspray - and unlike hairspray, I always have some in stock

just wondering though what do you guys clean your leathers with as it has white which isnt going to last.
Warm water, mild detergent and a rag. Or send them off once a year if they are particularly grubby. I'm sure that the cleaning fetishists will be along shortly with better suggestions though

@BanditMike wrote:@smilinjack wrote:Took off another half turn of compression front and rear as I'm only a little lightweight. Much more comfy over the rough stuff. Did another massive handling improvement too......
blew the tyres up. 22psi front and rear which is not where you want to be
Always useful
Unless you run Dunlop NTECs - 15psi in the rear on a day like today....

@stantheman wrote:i use a flip front helmet so dont even need to take me glasses off to put it on
Yep, great for enabling smoking and drinking whilst riding. And makes a nifty canopy to keep yer camera dry when taking pics in the rain :-)

Good write up fella looking forward to part 2

@Chadatious wrote:right what do people recommend and what should i avoid?
i currently have richa which ive found good but finding a richa supplier around here is not the easiest of things. but my mate can get me discount on rst leathers? are they any good as people people have told me they dont last?
Pretty much all leathers will last if you keep 'em clean and greased up mate.
FWIW I'm a fan of the Arlen Ness stuff, but conversely Mike likes his current Dainese because he can move around on the bike easier. Look at the construction and fit rather than a 'name', I've seen some big name, big price suits fall apart like tissue in an off. Similarly the tougher stuff can be significantly heaver, so as Dave said, whatever feels right for you.

@smilinjack wrote:I've had my Triumph well over a year and never quite got on with the front end. Seemed hard and lifeless, so finally l set the forks back to factory settings as a start point. What a difference! Dunno if the previous owner was a bit of a munter, but preload, compression and damping were all stiffer than stock. Might try lowering the yokes a tad as well. I feel quite encouraged by my evening's work
Good news mate Why do you want to lover the front, isn't it turning in quick enough?

@bladerunner wrote:any glasses wearers out there?
Yep. I'm a speccy mong.
The anti-glare seems to come as standard these days, but I can't say that I notice the difference. I found that the best best is to have a dedicated pair for riding (and a pair of script sunglasses) as a tight helmet (oooerrr) can bend the arms and thus make them a bit crap for normal use.
Get an up to date script (Boots are good but charge, Tesco are free) and order some cheapies online for bike use. I've tried a few online sellers and some are crap - the one I mostly use are www.optical4less.com, who haven't messed up an order in the last 8 or 9 years.
Generally I order half a dozen pairs every 9 months or so for about a hundred quid, which keeps me topped up. Only downside is that you can't try them on before you buy, but a) it'll take more than a nice pair of specs to make me look pretty, and b) the ones that really don't suit you are ideal to keep under your bike seat / in the glove box / at work as spares.
Obviously the best way forward is to use contact lenses for riding, but I'm a fat fingered clumsy oaf and I can't bring myself to pinch my own eyeball to get the things out -

About time, we were waiting for you.... Looking forward to the thread.

Happy birthday fella

Nah Dave, it's popped up on ebay. -
...that you can pick to look at your bike
-
...when you see one of your old bikes come back up for sale. Especially when they use the same pictures and description you used to sell it 6 or 7 years ago
Still, it's allegedly only done a thousand miles in that time so I might buy it back if it stays that cheap -
@smilinjack wrote:But did you mean a barge, or a narrowboat common mix up these two.
Nope definately a barge - just reminds me of the old SRADs that I think are hideous
Back on topic Dave, if you are going to keep the King, a fully blown tourer is the way to go I reckon.
