  1. Most through adds in Motorcycle press, up to 2002 when I bought a bandit off of a mate that got banned. Then got a pay out for a hit and run so bought a new bandit on line from a dealer down south. In 2007 was looking for a Ltd addition Busa but every one I chased was already sold.Went into my local Suzuki dealer who I never use as it was one of his employees that hit me in the hit and run and there was this White Ltd addition Busa, asked if it was sold and was told someone was coming it to look at it but they had not put a deposit on it so I said phone him and tell him not to bother and after a bit on negotiating on part ex and prices I bought it.Had it for almost 3 years but because of a shoulder / arm injury (at work) I found Iwas riding the wife's trike (Ebay unfinished projecta Honda Magna 750 cruiser) more than the Busa because of the riding position so I bought a V Star 1100 from an importer in the North West. Very Happy

  2. Welcome to the forum, sounds like you have a bit of work to be getting on with, if you get stuck with your engine swap I am sure someone on here will be able to point you in the right direction. thumbs

  3. Hi Steve welcome in, I don't own a trike but I have to fix the wife's when she brakes it. Sad She rides a Honda Magna 750 trike. and we ride and rally with the Yorkshire trikers so I have a few mates with trikes.

  4. I phoned the administrators yesterday (Moorfields)as we have so vouchers as a raffel prize for the Vosa Rejects Rally (To be held in August)and was told that although the could not confirm it as they had only been appointed the day before they expected them to be trading for the next month but asked me to get back to them latter next week. I think all the shops are run on a manager franchise basis most that I have had dealings with over the years have anyway. So may be some may start up as independent traders.

  5. agree They are all, and I mean all, be it cars or bikes, robbing Bar Stewards, you just gotta swop every year and use the comparison sites to go for the cheapest.
And if you got any modifications....and any change from o.e. is a modification.... You best declare em all if you expect to make any type of claim.... They got us by the short and curliest ... Sad

Problem is when you change or add anything they will try and charge you an admin fee, but if you don't and make a claim they will try not to pay out. I was told (But not sure) that if you change the paint job its supposed to be an upgrade???? and of course an admin fee is payable.

  6. Today I fitted a set of Angel eyes spot lamp onto the indicator clamp bolts, made a couple of 2 1/2" brackets out of a piece of aluminium flat bar, buffed it up a bit and its now nice and shiny. I did have to make a second set of brackets as I first used a piece of stainless steel but it was to thin and the lights bounced even of tickover. I fitted it so that the LED ring round the outside of the lenses comes on with the dipped beam and the spots come on with the main beam.

While I had the headlight open I fitted a hazard warning flasher kit on that we had on my wife's old trike. When I get my front fender back form paint I will post up some pics.

  7. I'm so jealous looks great mate, I had one for almost three years but had to give her up surrender because of a shoulder / arm injury that was not conducive to the riding position of sports bikes Sad if at all possible I would have one tomorrow. thumbs Best bike I have ever owned and my wife said its the most comfortable pillion ride she has ever had. thumbs

    Enjoy your new ride.

  8. Tell him you want a new wheel and he can have to old one get it repaired and sell it to recoup some of his money. The last he can do it get you a new wheel or as the others have said its time for the insurance company.

  9. Hi Guys
I do hope you will indulge me but I have a favour to ask of you ALL. Last August I was at a bikers rally (Vosa Rejects)run by a club I belong to Yorkshire Trikers it was in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Whilst there I was talking to one of the fund raisers for the Air Ambulance and in conversation he said "Of course a big chunk of what we collect will be given back to the Government" I did not realise that because the Air Ambulance is fully funded by charitable donations and they do not charge for their services they have to pay VAT as the so called end user. I researched it for a few months and in Feb I started an E Petition to Return VAT on Air Ambulance charity fuel bills. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/29349
I have reached the required 100,000 signatures to be allowed to ask an MP to request a debate in the House of Commons but I had set myself a personal goal of getting an additional 50,000 signatures to show the Government and the MP's the strength of feeling amongst the general public. At the present moment in time we need just over 500 more people to sign the petition to reach this goal and I was hoping that if you have not already do so you would sign it for me please? It would also be of great help if you could post it up on any other forums and web sites you frequent. We do now have a date for the debate its the 5th of July so we do not have very long to get the additional 500 signatures, any help you can give will be very much appreciated. thumbs
    Cheers
