  1. I've been praying in tongues and I told him I don't understand theese words then HE says to me yes you do within, Out of being curious I started writing down some of the words I looked them up and I've prayed in 7 languages,

I don’t understand. Praying in tongues is a language, a heavenly language all on it’s own. Are you saying when you’re praying in tongues God gives you the interpretation in many different languages?

It's those "little" things that become magnified and shows us just how close God is to us on a daily basis. Praise the Lord!

I just loooooooove that..."little things that become magnified"... woo hoo

  3. Praise God for His many blessings!

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday morning. As I was going to the office, I stopped at one of the convenient stores along the way to fill up with gas AND get me a cup of coffee. This store has the BEST coffee and I had fixed my mouth up for it ALL morning!

I pulled up to the pump (you all know it’s either pre-pay with cash on the inside or pay at the pump with a debit/credit card) and pressed the “speak with attendant” button. No one answered so I walked inside. I told the cashier I needed to fill up and purchase a cup of coffee but I didn’t have any cash. I told her I was paying with my card and since I didn’t know how much it would take to fill my truck up, and asked if she could turn the pump on. She said I could guesstimate on how much it would take to fill the truck up, get the coffee and pay inside, or I could pay at the pump, fill up and then come back on the inside to purchase the coffee but she couldn’t turn the pump on. I asked her if I could leave my i.d. (I never leave my card) with her and she still said no. I’m saying to myself, “This is ridiculous”. I said, “Well, I’ll pay at the pump and just get the gas otherwise I will have to make two separate transactions.”

As I turned to walk out the store, this man was walking up to the counter and said, “I’ll buy your coffee ma’am.” He had two cups of coffee in his hand and told the cashier to add my coffee into his purchase. I couldn’t thank him enough because I REALLY wanted that coffee. I had been thinking about it all morning. I know he probably got tired of hearing me thank him because I thanked him until he got out of the store.
I thanked God ALL day because I know that was Him. That man came out of nowhere. I was wondering how he heard what was being said because the lady and I weren’t speaking loud and we were the only two at the front counter. I only saw him when I was telling the lady I would have to make two separate transactions. I don’t know where he came from or how much of the conversation he heard, but I do know God used him to buy my coffee and I enjoyed every minute of it.

As I left the store, I prayed and told God to lead me to someone who I could bless just as this man had been a blessing to me. I searched all day yesterday to see if I could see Gods hand in having me to be a blessing to someone. I was able to be a blessing to someone last night.

I just thank God for who He is and the little things that mean so much! Thank you Lord, for my coffee! :donut:

I can be touched by this situation...I really can. I just recently became a part of a new church, which I LOVE! The first thing that I was told, when walking through the door, was that the praise team was closed to new singers. I believe I was told this because my friend sings on the team and she was telling the band and singers that she used to sing with me and that I was a praise and worship leader. This intimidated the leader so she quickly made sure I wouldn't be able to join the group. Little does she know, I wasn't looking to join because I wanted to do something different. I know i"m called to do praise and worship, but maybe in a different season in this situation.

I prayed about the situation and God CLEARLY told me not to bombard my way...allow him to cause my gifts to make room for me. I obeyed and just sat in the chairs week after week until my pastor came to me this past Sunday and said that he felt I had an anointing to work the altar and pray for people. I will soon be starting training for ministry. I had thoughts about leaving, just like your husband because honestly, I've always been a worker in the house of the Lord, but thank God I didn't leave because this is my purpose...in this church!

Maybe if you share my story with your husband, he may have a little more patience with the church. Some people are intimidated when people ask to become a part of a ministry...especially if they are new. When you KNOW you are called, it doesn't matter what anyone says...YOU ARE CALLED and no one can stop it or control it. You never know what God is doing behind the scenes. I didn't know that God had showed my pastor some things about me, but he was waiting for timing. If I would have left, I would have left PREmaturely.

I would suggest that the two of you wait it out UNLESS God is leading you to go a different direction. Continue to pray. Your husband may be itching to leave, but rest assure God has a way of keeping him planted. HE IS power...and has the ability to close any door needed to keep him where he needs to be.

    I am praying for you...really I am.

  5. Praise the Lord, Sisters and Brothers in Christ!

Our church does a fast the month of January each year. We were also led of the Lord, through our Bishop, to end 2010 with a fast. We did an absolute fast (nothing to eat or drink) the last 3 days of December…I made it through! We normally do a fast the entire month of January (not the absolute, but nothing to eat or drink after midnight until the 9th (3 pm) hour. This year we did 21 days; however, I didn’t make it through this one which surprises me because this is the first year I didn’t make it but God is STILL God, amen?!

As we prepared ourselves for this year’s fast, our Bishop recommended the Pastors within the Organization to get information from a site where a powerful man of God provides information about fasting, how to fast, what it does, etc. Although the man is deceased, his knowledge of fasting is STILL alive today. The members of our church printed the information out and studied/discussed it throughout the fast during Wednesday night bible study and Sunday school. This man is said to have consecrated himself so much before God that He was able to smell Him. He was so close to God through fasting that the presence/glory of God was manifested to him and he could smell Him. If anyone would like his name to google and the link to look for to find this information, you can pm me. We’re not allowed to post other sites and stuff like that. Ok…

As we began the fast, Pastor told us she wanted to experience the glory/presence of being so close God as this man did. She said she told God that if she didn’t get anything else from the fast, being so close to Him to experience His presence/glory to where she could smell Him was enough. About a week into the fast, Pastor told us that she woke up in the middle of the night (Monday) smelling something really sweet. She said she wondered what it was and where it came from. She said not thinking too much about it, she finally went back to sleep. She said that Tuesday night, she woke up smelling it again. She said she kept asking herself what the smell was and where it was coming from. She said she got up looking around the house to see if she could find where it came from…but nothing. She said she was still wondering where the smell was coming from when she went back to her bedroom. When she got in her bedroom, she said God reminded her of the prayer she prayed and she wept in thanksgiving. She smelled it Wednesday night and Saturday night. She said she didn’t smell it that Thursday or Friday night. She was telling us this during Sunday school and said she was praying she be in His presence that night as well. This had to be on Sunday, January 16th because of my testimony I’m about to share with you.

On Sunday, January 23rd, we had a guest speaker. Pastor was sharing the above testimony during Sunday school with him. As she was telling it, I smelled the sweetest/soft fragrance I’ve EVER smelled before in my life. It was RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE! I was like, “What is that smell and where is it coming from? Somebody has some good smelling lotion or perfume.” It smelled soooo good. I looked around to see who had it but no one was spraying perfume or putting on lotion. When I looked around to see where it was coming from, I couldn’t smell it anymore. But as soon as I turned back around, I could smell it again. It was right under my nose. I was like, “What is that smell and where is it coming from?” So I looked around again and just as before, nobody had anything and I couldn’t smell it anymore. As soon as I turned back around, the smell was right under my nose again. THEN, it dawned on me. I said, “Lord, is that you?” And the smell went away. THAT was the presence of the Lord right in front of me! As soon as I acknowledged that it was the Lord, He left. The smell didn’t come back after that.

Our God is an awesome God! God is always closer than we think and even when we don’t think He’s there…He’s there. That’s why I am so thankful to Mia for starting this Walking Closer with the Lord thread. Even though I don’t post there often, just the idea of it that she brought out speaks volume. Since she started that thread, I have been seeking and praying more - just to be close to Him….to get to know Him better…The closer I get to Him and the more I learn about Him, the more I recognize who I am IN HIM! I’m constantly reminded of this - Matthew 16:13-18…

13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

When Peter told Jesus who He was, it was THEN that Jesus told Peter who he was! I should’ve added verse 19 because after He told Peter who he was, He also told him what He was going to give him (the keys) and what he could do – BIND AND LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to say that almost every single cell phone has a recorder in it. I practically wrote half my book on my cell phone recorder. It is usually under "tools" or something of that nature. I keep my phone charging next to my bed....the great thing about this is that the phone also makes a light...(no need to turn a light on to record, or to write something down) and this is the best...you dont have to walk around waking up. The other morning I was telling my husband that I knew I had a God dream the night before, but I didnt have even a clue what it was, because I hadnt recorded it. later that day I was going through my recordings and I was amazed that I had been mistaken, I HAD RECORDED MY DREAM...IT WAS THERE IN ALL IT'S DETAILS THAT i WOULD NOT HAVE REMEMBERED WOW. I was flabberghasted....I did not remember that ..So charge your phone on the night table...

That's great Linda but be careful using your cell phone while it is charging...

dude, you're actually in the right place.

you're only 19, young and emotional as has become custom today.

as far as "suffering" goes...read about Job and HOW he responded to his suffering.

think about people who are more unfortunate than you.

you WILL get beyond feeling like this.

    you mentioned "preparation"...that's a possibility.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

if you love God, He won't dare overlook you...He can't...He's obligated to bless you.

if you think it's hard for YOU, imagine how hard it is for those who DON'T love God and aren't living in His will.

continue to seek God and ask for what you want.

    ask and ye shall receive.

Wow! Can you believe this for yourself?

  8. Hello, everyone!

The last post I made in this thread was an emoticon representing me going into further reading and studying the word concerning this topic before I responded again. Needless to say, it has taken this long because I have not been faithful to the study. I haven’t been consistent. Yes, I started the day of my last post but I didn’t continue in the study so I haven’t completed it. However, I found something the first day I posted my last reply that I knew I was going to have to post when I finished my study. Being that it has taken so long for me to really commit and complete my study, I feel led to post it now as I continue with my study which I have started AGAIN…Prayerfully, I will commit to it and complete it. Not just to post, but for me…for ME to know why I believe what I believe for myself – anyway…

I just want to retract something I said in this thread, I believe it was, but I KNOW I mentioned it in the other thread concerning the promises of Abraham in the OT being done away with if we are no longer under the law. (I think I’m going to just post this comment in both places just to be on the safe side.) That can’t and will not be done according to Galatians 3:16-18. 16 “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, AND TO THY SEED, which is Christ.” 17 “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.” 18 “For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.”

    Okay…back to my study!
