I'm getting two warnings on the console: Warning: Heartbeat: www.minecraft.net is probably down (Error: NameResolutionFailure) Warning: Heartbeat: direct.worldofminecraft.com is probably down (Error: NameResolutionFailure) You should still be able to get in the server using http://www.minecraft.net/classic/play/82929555ce9859315c88bc3ef500fe85, and using the cached button in WoM. The IRC bot also doesn't seem to fully connect...

We've run into issues with the extended maintenance. The RAID that the OS drives were in failed. We've been busy rebuilding the node. If you have backups of your machine we can move you to a different node. Please advise. This is what I received via email after the 3rd or 4th time I wrote them. I've already found another VPS because I'm tired of their bullshit and general lag of the server. Now let's just hope they can manage to save all of it, or salvage a fcraft backup. Do you guys want a temp server up in the meantime?

Most of us would love this command. Other server software (MCSharp and its derivatives come to mind) have had this feature implemented for ages. fCraft, however, does not. Theoretically we could code it ourselves as it is open-source, but I wouldn't know the first place to start. Just bug fragmer (the developer) about it! http://cia.vc/stats/project/fCraft http://sourceforge.net/projects/fcraft/

Helllll no. Nobody wants to download a 5-10MB map every time they join a world. I started generating a flatgrass map at 1024x1024x256 before typing this and it's still not done. Okay, it's done now, but it took 45 seconds to generate. A FLATGRASS MAP. We don't have the fastest VPS and I'm sure some of our players don't have the fastest computers. Let's keep the max dimensions of a map around 512x512x512.

Lime green was what I initially went with, but I didn't see it in the drop down menu. Then I realized you can set the color using color codes. Also the colors don't look as bad as they did before because you can change the color scheme to beta in the WoM client, anyway. Admin zones and worlds will get pushed down to expert. I can't make the ranks equal, but the order shouldn't really matter. Okay, so outcast is useless.

What a thread... Okay, everyone should calm down first of all. If this admin issue is troublesome to so many people, then what do you all say about removing the rank itself? To be fair, I don't see why zelda needed to be promoted to begin with. Mouf, you say she is a great moderator and is incredibly active on the server, but does she really need access to commands like restart/shutdown, etc? What about the times she's been banned from using the computer? There's always a possibility of these things happening again. Keep in mind zelda also seems hesitant about the rank responsibilities (and the situation as a whole). Let's remove the rank. The "admins" will just be moved to GM. Experts practically have full control. I mean, they did before we had an admin rank and it worked quite well, did it not? I've been toying around with the idea of new ranks. Let me know what you guys think. grandmaster <-- The real admin rank, all cmds expert <-- All cmds except editplayerdb, bringall, import, reload, shutdown/restart veteran <-- Rank for retired experts, same cmds except say, bring, mute, setspawn, lock, manage worlds adept artisan <-- Mason w/ kick & patrol, for the trustworthy mason pupil rookie <--Novice w/ tp, placewater & placegrass, for those novices you can trust and haven't reached 6 hours novice outcast <-- For the banned/annoyances, strips them of all powers except chat
