Interesting setup, Eight. Can you post a macro shot of with this setup. I'm puzzled why the car appear so clear through the transluscent white pail.

Sorry, typo. 6th is unpainted Baja, have not decide what color. Any recommendation? rikmun and Raymond - Newbie in customizing, so a lot to learn from the gurus, here.

5th - Her VW Bug After so much fun with His VW Bug, she has to make another for herself. Now we have a pair.

4th - Black Baja After the failed gold flake baja, have to paint another baja with my favorite color. Swap big bad rims from Speed Racer. Detail the interior and lights. Added headlight stickers.

3rd - His VW Bug By my misses for me. Actually, she just took over when she saw the Daiso stickers. Swap the wheels from Speed Racer. Tried to paint the 5 dots rim with black marker, but it look bad. Tried to clean but cannot . Now the rims looks greyish. Planning to paint it white. Detail the tail lights. This is a defective casting, the rear rivet has broke off from the base. Found another bug on the peg that is same defect, so check before you buy.

2nd - Goldie Playing around with Pelikan PLAKA-Lack gold flake paint here. Intent to achieve some gold flake on black baja but it dry up too fast. End up painting multiple layer to make it solid gold.

Got inspired with all the nice custom works around here. So I readup all the tips and thought this should not be too difficult. Realized I was totatlly wrong. My worsening eyesight and shaky hands was no help at all. 1st - White First successful custom after the other die cast drop down stair during drying . A bit plain, so looking out for suitable decal. Try painting the interior and engine, which is real challenge for me.

Can get this green VW for me?

Found the price from another site: (T)2mm x (W)1200mm x (L)1800mm Mirror - SGD$102 (T)2mm x (W)1200mm x (L)1800mm Clear - SGD$37 So it is about 2-3 times more. I'm sure it will look nicer with mirror backing, go for it if $ no issue:)

zint3000 and jhc7598 - Thanks for viewing. RGSUKAN - Actually it is nice from far, far from nice. Some pieces are not equally spaced but it will do for my self display. No, display flush to one side only. Using other side for picture frames. My initial intention was to use acrylic mirror backing too. But gave up due to significant cost difference.

Here are the display cases installed into the divider upper shelves. Have to ensure it is tight so my children cannot knock them down. Closeup Phase 1 of project closed. Phase 2 will be another two cases for lower shelves for Baja and Custom VW Beetle in a few months time.

zacktan and sinclair: Thanks Raymond: Did some simple calculations and then ordered the big pieces as they can cut square and accurate to dimension. I only cut those small separators between the cars.

Eight: It cost SGD$58 for 1st case, where everything is cut to size. Current case cost SGD$48 each, but need to cut smaller pieces myself. Cooolman: Will PM you the site.

Due to continous poisoning from evil bay, ran out of space on current display case. Thought I'll will share this project due to some enquires about my avatar display case. Since forced to clear leave this week, thought of spending some time to build two new display case to fit into divider. Taking measurement with measuring tape (1st mistake) and calculate the number of slots that can fit VW model sizes. Settled on 4 columns and 8 rows making 32 slots. Ordered necessary acrylic materials and adhesive from supplier. Glue the back and sides to form the case. And test fit on divider, found ~5mm gap , my measuring tape have a big error. Glue the shelves and add to case. Notice some adhesive marks (2nd mistake) due to using board brush for application. Left with drilling the front cover but need to do that in the office. Will post pictures when case is complete and Hotwheels added .

Excellent work . Can consider starting customing class.
