- What is Muscle car?

- Why overall 40% Hotwheels issues is a Muscle car?

- Muscle golden era were started by likes of famous Mustang,Camaro, Charger, GTO, Cuda, Firebird, Chevelle, Cougar,Impala,El Camino,Judge and less famous like Superbird, Rivera,Demon,Dart,Cutlass, Galaxie, Continental..i.e early 60's to mid 70's. Do we call only on this era is American Muscle Car?

- Do earlier 60's American car is called Hot Rod. Not Muscle car?

- Current new Camaro and Charger are not Muscle Car anymore. They are Supercar. Is this true?

- What is Mopar?

- Is Muscle car by definition is a V8 car and above? Why Hemi engine was so-so famous?

- Is V6 and below is called Pony car or Puny/Squirrel powered car ?

- Some say the likes of Corvette or Shelby is higher level than Muscle car. They were called " KR (King of the Road). Is this true?

I hope somebody can clear this question (Boneshaker,Atom,Sinclair perhaps ). This very important towards true appreciations of Hotwheels Collectible. Thank You.

Woah, loads of questions. I can't really answer all of them coz I'm not a Muscle car fan although I do have a number of American cars. I think the web can give you the answers you seek but in relation to Hot Wheels, a large of number of cars released are Amercian coz USA is the biggest market for Hot Wheels. It makes sense for Hot Wheels to release more of these cars.

I guess in-depth knowledge of those American cars would increase appreciation of your Hot Wheels collection but I think it is not essential to enjoy racing your cars about and liking cool flame decals. Like me. What a Face

Mopar is an automobile parts manufacturer that is quite tied-in to the Chrysler/Dodge group, something like between Mugen and Honda or perhaps Ralliart and Mitsubishi.
It's a short term for Motor Parts.
Check out their website if you want to know more~
Mopar is also loosely referred to Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars or other makes that are/were affiliated to the Chrysler group. (I think this is what answers your question),

Sinclair,
The questions i gave i think just a fundamental question of muscle car since my appreciations towards all world car history stumble upon those questions for muscle car.

I think everybody here as well your confession got plenty-plenty of hotwheels muscle car so why not spread knowledge to others.

Btw thank you Yao, 1 question down. Next please.....(others please answer)

Sinclair,Aussie Holden a muscle car? you do have a numbers of American cars ( actual 1/1 ? ) Your answer to Hotwheels and its relation to muscle is quite appropriate.

I hope all the Muscle cars sifus can help out wildspirit with his questions.

I don't think the Aussie Holden is a muscle car, I may be wrong.

Haha, I don't have any 1/1 American cars although I wouldn't mind a Mustang. afro

- What is Muscle car?

Refers to "American" 2-door rear wheel drive mid size cars of the late 60s to 70s equipped with large powerful V8 engines for street use and drag racing. There's the classic muscle, budget muscle, modern muscle. ALL V8 engines can only be considered Muscle Cars.

- Why overall 40% Hotwheels issues is a Muscle car?

Because Hot Wheels is an American brand. American = Muscle cars.

Yes, and there's a decline in the late 70s to 80s as NEW V8 engines cars came, The Japanese, The Germans, The Italians came and took America by storm with the cheaper version of Modern Muscle cars.

- Do earlier 60's American car is called Hot Rod. Not Muscle car?

Hot Rod is actually a Roadster category modified for high speed. Because larger engines replaces the original engines, the hood is taken out hence exposing the engine. It can be considered muscle car when the engine is modified above V8 but very few. Because speeding is not top priority of being a Hot Rod.

I answer the rest later... maken dulu.

There's two question here, about Camaro & Charger:
Because modern V8 engines are common, smaller & high technology driven, it's not entirely considered "Muscle Cars" in terms. Nowadays when Americans says "muscle cars" its also meant "Handmade from scratch" where else, the new Camaro & Charger have shrunk its engines from V8 to V6 (cheaper) but that do not meant they're slower. Camaro & Dodge chargers got their V8 engines but still in concept.
They are not Supercars. What is bigger than V8 engines? It's the V12 engines, that's super!
V12s equals to an Airplane's engine. That's like having six horses on each side pulling your car. And anything above V12 engine is unpractical.

- What is Mopar?

In short for MOtor PARts is an automobile parts and service arm of Chrysler Group since 1920s, like BMW equals to Auto Bavaria.

-Why Hemi engine was so-so famous?

It's a great Engine for High performance car due to its Hemisphere cams.
The problem with Hemispherical Combustion Chamber Engine is production cost is high, 25% heavier than a comparable wedge head, poor low-rpm performance characteristics and difficulty meeting the current fuel octane.

- Is V6 and below is called Pony car or Puny/Squirrel powered car?

Yes, the term 'Pony Car' describes an affordable, compact, highly styled car with a
sporty or performance-oriented car BUT ideally V6 - V8 engines. It means something like a Wolf in a sheep's clothing.

- Some say the likes of Corvette or Shelby is higher level than Muscle car. They were called " KR (King of the Road). Is this true?

It's difficult to answer this question because ALL car company with muscle car will always called themselves King, which the reason why there's Racing Championships to determine who's the best. It's like MAS vs AirAsia, who's the best?

I may have left out alot of info because made in short & simple.
