Thorrr 0 Posted March 4, 2010 matchboxclub wrote:awesome custom bro! love the worn out rusty look, how u make that?The worn out paint is done by spraying it 3-4 layers of different coloured paint, the bottom coat black, then sand it with fine "wet" sandpaper - I use 1200 grit, and as you sand through the different layers it gives you the worn out paint look. Then I use dark brown and orange paint to add the rust, and lastly I use colour washes and dry-brushing to "dirty it up".... the guys doing military modelling have many clever ways of getting dirty and worn effects for their models and much can be learned form them.
