  1. Chad If your wheel protrudes out beyond the arch you might have another problem. I understand if the above applies the car is deemed in a dangerous condition. Check it out. The tread and wheel must remain within the arch.
  2. I’ve made some modifications to my car, do I need to tell the insurance company about them? Yes. This is a material change to your vehicle and therefore alters the risk attached to it by the insurance company. Alloy wheels, for instance, may make your vehicle a more attractive target for car thieves. Ultimately, though, car insurance companies will only ever pay out the market value of your vehicle at the time the claim is made. Unless you have an agreed value negotiated, it’s highly debatable whether you would recoup what had been spent on modifications.
  3. Is it a standard car? The answer is no so its modified. Read what the insurance company says about non disclosure of modifications. Does it say something like failure to disclose could invalidate your insurance? They ask you to read the proposal and advise them of all incorrect answers. Your responsibility not the insurance company/broker. If you are certain the car started life with alloys of the same size you have nothing to fear by advising them.
  4. I hope he is offered a speed awareness course but this is doubtful if the second NIP is in the 40's.
  5. You are considered an habitual speeder with no regard for others, therefore will have to suffer the consequences. 60% over the legal limit is not a good point to argue. Before the end of the week you might get another through the post. Said previously your licence will be gone. I hear the same story every week with the same results.

  7. Can you prove they got it wrong when they caught you speeding? Can you prove their equipment was at the time of the alleged offence out of calibration. Can you prove where they caught you was not in accordance with the law. If you go to court be prepared for worse than you have now if you lose. How much will it cost to get a specialist lawyer to represent you in court and can you afford a few £K? No good turning up at court unless you have a full understanding of the law surrounding the use of the equipment that caught you. You are correct some lucky speeders with under 2 years full licence are offered a speed awareness course but don't hold your breath you have no idea you will be one of the lucky ones. If I understand correctly your first alleged offence was 48mph in a 30 limit. If the latest (2nd) NIP is a similar speed you can say goodbye to you licence.
  8. Take the hit, apply for a provisional and jump through the hoops again. Points will show on a new provisional.
  9. The above is a guide and not law. Some plod forces will be operating ZERO TOLERANCE if government proposals get the green light. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-23200/Zero-tolerance-speeding.html
  10. has stu just found out ? Yea we will find out soon im sure, she thinks she was doing about 33 in a 30 zone No chance of a ticket at 33 on the speedo reading. True speed 30/31mph
  11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-RAV4-2-0-00-01-Catalytic-Converter-Cat-/200576422881?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb34953e1 Is this like your cat?
  12. Petrol Engine RAV4 Change HT LEAD No3 and plugs. Does this model use individual ignition coils? Why was the sensor changed. Now a leaking head gasket stands a chance of knackering the sensor thus engine light flashing/staying on, anti-freeze contamination. Its unlikely the cat is done in, unless its had a few bad experiences before you bought the vehicle. Yes individual ignition coil just read you post again. They fail regular, even more crap to follow as its likely the other coils will follow suit. £30 each?
  13. Do them yourself its a 15 minute job!
  14. Good you are sorted. Was looking forward to a practice on your tyres. Im not very good at removing tyres so use a chainsaw to help, I will get better with more practice. Anyone want me to change your tyres lol. If any of you guys are near to me, you are welcome to use my gear to change tyres. Yes I have a balancer so no problems with a bumpy ride home.
  15. You can come over here and use my gear and DIY. Or I will do them for you.
  16. Some of these non english speaking/reading people are driving public transport, because they are cheap labour in many cases.
  17. Did same to me in June. I think I was quoted about £60 above online price. Paid around £120 eventually.
  18. Look after it then you will get years of rides from it.
