  4. Be careful "dirt" does not turn into an abrasive and scratch the paint. I believe all crap should be washed off gently prior to cleaning.
  5. Was it Michelin that started producing motocross coloured tyres for the Xtreme games?
  6. Put it in the garage or you will wear it out lol. Nearly went for a ride today, lazy me was looking for an excuse and looked at weather forcast, got my excuse. Wife found me a job painting.
  7. Congratulations Chad on passing your driving test.
  8. Pass Plus is b------sed now because of bent instructors completing the documents without providing training, taking half the money (or more) signing off the student and the certificate arrives.

  11. Morris Minor Pickup. Mini. Standard 10 or Vanguard. Looks more like a Vanguard turning right. Car/pickup facing/waiting at lights looks like a ford. Might be wrong. The car behing it could be a Triumph Herald Coupe. The bike went to Japan and they produced a B- King from it. Ha Ha.
  12. No idea what the bike is but reckon I can identify 3 cars. I must be so boring lol.
  13. CHECK CRIME IN YOUR AREA http://www.police.uk/
  14. Ba----ds are nicking anything that looks like lead/metal including drains from the side of the road. Every night locally some unlucky sod loses their window lead etc. Local library was stripped 2 weekends ago.
  15. But new tyres don't need running in. Bet he listens next time he gets a new bike.
  16. Ask the guy 50 yards from my place about new bikes and running in new tyres. He now has a busted wrist and a £1000 bill. Most new tyres are very slippy and if the manufacturer adds release/anti ageing agents then they can be very slippy. Quote from expert fitters/suppliers. Yes. When new tyres are fitted they must be run in for approx 700 miles with no excessive accelaration or braking, they should then be checked for correct seating on the rim and the tyre pressures checked. New tyres are slippy. Ignore this at your peril. Unfortunately we have had customers in the past who have ignored this advice and have fallen off their bike within five yards of our workshop entrance. You have been warned!!! New tyres can be very slippery (especially if ridden in the wet) & need to be 'run in' correctly to help prevent any accidents. The slippery surface on a new tyre is caused by 2 main reasons. ~When new, a tyre has a very smooth surface & in order to obtain maximum grip, the smooth surface needs to be 'scrubbed in'. ~Some manufacturers use 'releasing agents' when they make the tyres. These 'releasing agents' contain 'anti-ageing preservatives' which help to stop a tyre degrading whilst in storage. Releasing agents need to be scrubbed from a new tyres surface. A new tyre needs to be seated on the wheel. This is not fully achieved when fitting a tyre & it needs to be ridden on with caution to complete the process. ~In order to achieve optimum performance, the various components of the tyre (belts, tread strip etc) need to be correctly bedded in to one another. If not run in correctly, a tyre may not give the best possible performance. Quote from Avon. Running In Tyres When new motorcycle tyres are fitted for the road, they should not be subjected to maximum power until a reasonable 'running in' distance has been covered. 100 dry miles (160km) is the recommended minimum (discount any wet miles covered). Tyres should then be visually examined and their inflation pressure re-checked before riding. Avon motorcycle tyres are only for use on vehicles for which motorcycle tyres were originally specified by the vehicle manufacturer, any other use may be dangerous. Motorcycle tyres which have been subject to use on rolling roads must no longer be used for subsequent, normal service. Use of Avon motorcycle tyres on a rolling road (Dyno) will invalidate the tyre warranty. All tests on rolling roads must be carried out with test tyres, special tyres reserved for maintenance purposes, or tyres which are worn out or downgraded. Tyre manufacturers cover their arse by warnings. If only we could get documentation where they state no running in period, would be brilliant in the event of an off.
  17. Careful those tyres ain't scrubbed in at that mileage. It will not be a B-King it will be a F-King. Looks a nice piece of kit.
  18. Morning Ken No, I have the old tyre and confirm they balanced the tyre with the disc on... Must be worth £30/£40 on ebay. That will pay part of new tyre cost.
  19. I hope you have the "old" tyre at home and have not left it with the tyre place.
  20. why were the disc's off ?? is it a Honda thing ?? You know Neill, as I know, any addition to a balanced assembly will add unbalance which will need correcting. i know Ken but why would they unbolt the disc when fitting a tyre?? mine have never been removed and I dont see why they would. Its how some tyre fitters take the tyre off, so they can never be accused of screwing up the disc(s). Remove discs then they have no chance of resting on any surface. Seeing this practice more and more, that is why I asked the question. Others remove the disc(s) for access because they can't use standard in the toolbox valve puller and have sweet nothing else available except pliers.
  21. If it was not balanced with the brake discs fitted you might just as well rip the weight(s) off cos the balance is crap! why were the disc's off ?? is it a Honda thing ?? You know Neill, as I know, any addition to a balanced assembly will add unbalance which will need correcting.
  22. So it was dynamically balanced so they will tell you, not static balanced.
  23. If it was not balanced with the brake discs fitted you might just as well rip the weight(s) off cos the balance is crap! Any unbalance in the disc(s), and axis position will affect and previous balance without disc(s) fitted.
  24. That front tyre you removed was ok and would not have caused you any problems. If you don't like the silver balance weights then paint it/them black. Was the wheel balanced with the discs fitted?
