  8. i like yams not the most exciting bike but a good solid workhorse there popular and parts are cheap,sounds like an easy fix as well

  11. yamaha changed loads of the engine internals lighter crank forged pistons etc mines got a nice light clutch its only five gears doesnt need anymore,neutral can be a bit tricky at times chain adjustment helps there,i dont know about swapping the clutch its the same engine block so i would have thought so hope that helps sophie Thanks Dick, I knew they'd sorted the distortion issues which caused the oil consumption problem. Honest, when I went to Greece on her I wish I'd bought shares in oil companies Working on her last night and noticed one of the fork oil seals is weeping Another 'little' job to add to the list I'd be quite tempted to put a YZF motor in if I came across one at the right price. Where did you say you parked yours Dick? thats top secret sophie i forgot to say my ACE uses no oil at all between changes,hope you fettle the fork seals
  12. i do give the chain a good clean once in a while,but it makes no mess
  13. the xs 750 was a bit dodgy,they rectified that with the xs800
  14. ive heard good things about them garry,my Ace came with a scottoiler fitted,i just top it up every thousand miles
  15. if you cut me in half it would say yamaha they just suit me and i love the variety of bikes on this forum, were all different
