clutch master kit
madcarper replied to madcarper's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
thanks dick went back to the salvage yard today to have another look at the bike i got the parts off , i've worked out it s a fzr1000 exup 89/91 ish i think with r1 front end usd forks with bluespot calipers. most of its bent or missing so still not sure what the master cylinders are off as the exup did not have remote resovoirs. anyway i've ordered the kit you gave me the link for i will just hope the levers i get fit as i don't have a model or year of manufacture.do you think the nissin axial master cylinders will be all the same for lever fit. -

managed to get calipers and risers painted, fitted the controls although i have to extend the wiring and probably get longer throttle and choke cables i'll know better when i get the motor back in. rizoma grips on and my lsl headlight brackets look much better. braided rear brake line on thats the back end sorted. waiting for seal kit for the front calipers then i'll fit and measure for new brake lines. bought a zzr1400 radial clutch master cylinder but can't find matching brake cylinder for sensible money,so got a pair of a r1 will clean up and fit with billet pots and new levers ,anyone bought the pazzo or similar copies from japan and if so are they ok. need to get barend mirrors,i think the clocks will be the acewell 4554AB.nice and neat to sit behind the headlight. thats it for now folks will keep the updates coming as and when.

looking really good chad, can;t figure out how you can get air bubbles under the decals after they on,did you put them on with water and push all the air and water to the edges with a plastic spreader or similar and dry with hot air gun if they where nice and flat the little air bubbles under the decals have chance to be micro blisters caused by the decals trapping solvent although they shud not get any worse now.never mind though if you can live with any slight imperfections the chance is joe public won't even notice it.

aye tony if you are putting decals over fresh paint you should let it cure for a few days otherwise the decals can trap solvents which causes micro blisters. chad should be ok though as he put his decals over the basecoat which cures quick and then he will clearcoat over the top. i prefer to clear the base let it cure then flat, and apply the decals wet as you can sometimes mark the basecoat or pull some away if you have to cut or work the decals into awkward shapes then clearcoat again. but hey everybody does it there way.
