  2. good luck Dave I hope everything works out for you, Its definitely got me thinking as well because I like a drink and usually have way too much on friday, saturday and sunday night.I'm thinking about cutting it out or down drastically so at least I can still have a drink if I want before I'm told I have to give it up alltogether

  4. Im not normally superstitious but theres a few bike related superstitions I will not break under any circumstances,First I will never buy a bike with an X in the registration, this is because in my time Ive written 3 bikes off and they were all X reg.second I will not ride on May day bank holiday weekend because the three bikes I wrote off were all done on that weekend, thirdly whenever I get any new kit I have to pacify the tarmac gods by rolling around on the floor wearing it before I will wear it on the bike and someone has got to witness this as well, and finally whenever I get a new bike I always scratch it somewhere where it cant be seen so its not perfect any more, the last time I didnt do this i kept dropping spanners, locks and everything else on it.any more superstitions or rituals?

  5. after another conversation with the guy at the shop, they seem to think it could be the big end thats just started to break up.cant see that being very expensive,on the positive side theyre going to try and get Ducati to stump up some money as this shouldnt happen on a 10,000 mile bike with a full service history,if not its getting traded in for something else and soon.

  6. been thinking about this and imho the worst thing he did was to hit the brakes when he saw the speed camera van,the highway code rule 163 says move quickly past the vehicle you are overtaking, once you have started to overtake. Allow plenty of room. Move back to the left as soon as you can but do not cut in.
so I would interpret that as spending as little time as possible on the wrong side of the road and if that means breaking the speed limit then so be it.
so to be fair who amongst us bike riders hasn't done 113 mph in a 60 limit,if the van hadn't have been there all he would have done is gone past the leading car and pulled in.
