  1. went to get the bikes out this morning and as I knelt down to unlock the chain a rat shot across the shed floor and out of a hole into where I  keep the track bike. I've got a rat trap and also put some poison down so lets see what happens.

  2. so I've had the Gixxer track bike for 6 or 7 years now and Im seriously considering selling it. I haven't used it since 2009 but What worries me is if I get the track day urge again I'll have to do it on my road bike and If I end up running on into the gravel, (done that once or twice before) that's a grand gone for a new fairing. Having said that the gixxers just been sat there for the past 4 years and all I can see is the money I would get back for it. Dunno what to do.

bloody hell Dave Shocked least you both ok the bike will mend m8 thumbs

mel wasnt on it m8 , i was just turning it round

I would be havin a word with Mel, she could have dived under it before it hit the deck hide

seriously though, theyre worth their weight in gold them R+G bungs, I had them on when I dropped my Blade at about 60 mph ,all I damaged was the alternator cover, rear footpeg that polished out and the crash bung.

If you get in touch with R+G they might sell you one bung, they did for my blade, save you having to fork out for the pair.

  4. It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When this becomes apparant, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there's nothing worse than an oversensitive woman.

My name is Ron. Let me relate how I handled this situation with my wife, Carol. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Carol to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.

Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work

Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table.

I generally have lunch in the Grill at the golf club, so eating out is not an option for us in the evening. I'm ready for some home-cooked food when I walk through that door. She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating but now it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner.

I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour, but chaps, we take them for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then would help her figure. I like to think tact is one of my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the lawn. I tried not to make a scene. I'm a fair man. I told her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and just relax for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she might as well make one for me too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Carol. I'm not saying that showing this much patience & consideration is easy. Many men would find it difficult if not impossible. Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older.

However, Chaps, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your ageing wife as a result of reading this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

Ron died suddenly of a perforated rectum after publishing this letter.

The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing. A sledge hammer was laying nearby.

His wife Carol, was arrested and charged with murder. The all-woman jury took only 9 minutes to find her "Not Guilty", accepting her defence that Ron, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.

  5. we had somebody break into my Mrs's car last year, they smashed the rear  quarter light, ripped the housing from round the steering column then noticed the f*****g great disclock on the steering wheel. cost us both a day off work to sort it out, fortunately not much in parts as the cars a bag of s**t but its the grief it causes, string the Ba*****s up by their todgers, thats what I say.

  6. went today, twice confused once on the way out and called in again on the way back. not bad for a free show. probably couldn't have spent much more than an hour or so there. Got a dog tag with my Mrs's contact details on it just in case, I've been threatening to get one for a while now and there was a guy there doing them so I bit the bullet, only a fiver as well. I put my name, post code, house number and my Mrs's work, mobile and our home phone number on it. Also got a little first aid kit they were giving away for free, its got a few plasters, surgical tape, small scissors, tweezers, antiseptic wipe, sting relief wipe and a bit of gauze. hope I never need any of these but you never know.

  7. Bought my bike from Hunts in Manchester about 2 months ago and before I picked it up they said they would give it a full service and it would get everything it needed. Just to satisfy my own curiosity I decided to change the oil and filter today and theres no way on Gods earth that oil and filter were changed, the oil was dirty and thin and the filter was covered in road crap. Its only done 800 miles since I bought it. It really makes me wonder if there are any reputable dealers out there any more as from my experiences with mine and the Mrs's bikes I don't think I will ever have a dealer service my bike again.

  8. and if you sign up for the club MCE you get all sorts of goodies at BSB rounds like priority entrance for the pit walk 10 minutes before the rabble, the chance for a lap in the pace car, pillion rides with BSB riders and if your lucky you get to go on the grid before the start of a race.

  9. just on our way back from Lincolnshire this afternoon and I pulled out to overtake a line of cars, gave it a bit of welly to get past quickly and a Rozzer coming the other way flashed me, turned round and chased us,I didn't know he turned round so we stopped for a toilet break and Rozzer pulled in behind us. Said he had it all on video, that he had to swerve out of my way (he was in the middle of a line of cars) did a full check on me,my bike and the Mrs, Breathalised us both then told me to be careful.in other words he couldn't prove anything.I wouldn't mind but it wasn't even a dodgy overtake, and I wasn't much over the speed limit, which incidentally he didn't know if it was 50 or 60, (60 actually) Guessing it was near the end of shift and he hadn't met his quota

  10. i was going to use a bit of inheritance money on a new car. however i found ifi spend less on a car, sell my bike and car i can spend 5-6k on a bike Smile still got like 10 months to go, but was looking at some fireblades today and i think im settled, may have to just do a cheeky test ride soon to know and then bring on march party

think very carefully before you buy a Fireblade, I've had 2 now and although they are very good bikes they just lack that something extra that makes them exciting. Which model Blade are you looking at?
