So, My TL has been playing up for a couple of weeks now. When the problem first started, the bike coughed and spluttered at high revs, i pulled over and it cut out. At this point, the FI light was on (so the ECU was getting a fault code). Since then, the bike has been a blighter to start (needing half throttle for 30 secs just to get it to tickover), really lumpy on tickover, even thristier than usual, and generally chuggs and sounds/feels rough. The annoying this is, iv'e been riding it in dealer mode ever since with these symptoms, and not a single time has the light come on or a fault code been displayed... So basically, i'm going to have to take it to a dealer to see whats up unless any of the very fine people on here have any ideas, because i have none at all Josh

Not that I'm in any way an expert, 'hash' and 'weed' aren't the same thing, LOL Hash (hashish) is the resin collected from the flowers of the cannabis plant cannibis A word used to describe a weed plant Weed A word used to describe a marijuana plant LOL one is the leaves/and or the bud (plant), and the other only contains resins made by rubbing/sieving the leaves...

ACF-50 & the bandit
tubthumper replied to Davehutch-hutchs's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
I used my Bandit through two winters solid. Through salt, water, snow, wind etc. Never had any problems wih the calipers seizing, or with any real corrosion. This is what I used to do to keep it in tip-top nick: Wash the bike with a decent cleaner - spend ages on it so it is spotless. Polish and wax the paintwork. Then, spray GT-85 (or ACF50 if you're feeling flush) all over the engine block till it is literally covered in it. Then cover anywhere that takes the brunt of the road muck (downpipes, front of angine, fork stanchions, read shock, swingarm etc.) with ACF50 on a rag. When you start the engine it will smoke like nothing you've seen before, this is the solvent evapourating. This will leave a film of PTFE over the block. The ACF50 should stay fairly liquid. I did this for maybe 3 washes every winter, and I sold by bandit on 2 years down the line with double the mileage, a little more rust, and 2 crashes to it's name for £200 less than I paid for it. Bottom line: wash it decent, protect it well and you've got very little to worry about... Josh -

Just got back from Bristol after buying my new TL! And what a revelation! So much torque, yet so predictable and smooth! Those who say that these are unrideable should try riding my old Bandit - it's a massive improvement!! And apart from the customary back-ache, the TL even though more bunched up than my Bandit, is more comfortable over long distances - result! Well anyways im feeling great so though i'd let everyone know Josh

Yeah Stu i love the pearl white. Only plans are Chrome Suzuki badges on the tank, then small red TL1000s and Suzuki stickers on the front fairing and belly pan. And some Buell pegs to give me a bit more legroom for my longshanks lol! Cheers for the concern all, don't worry i will go carefull im aware this bike is extremly powerful and will treat it with plenty of respect!

Yes mate im well excited! Apprehensive though - hope i get on with riding a twin. I'd never ridden the Bandit before i bought it so im sure i'll adapt as i did before! Yeah Chad, the R is just lardy and heavy, too much plastic and i like to see the engine. The bike has had a brand new paint job, £500 Bitubo rear shock, alarm, new cans, good tyres - it's totally sorted!! Oh and it's only done 15k and will cost me under £2k And Matt - when you let me ride your Z1000.... :P
