  1. which is best? like the 1200 myself but that's just from the look.
  2. About 350 miles is my limit per day, partly age partly the bike, that's about all i want to do anyway so to get down to cornwall means staying the night, don't fancy camping so b&b however been told that going down that way and expecting to get a place without booking isn't a good idea in the summer. Not particularly wanting to book in advance as it limits freedom/places a constraint - anybody got any experience of this area in summer b&b wise please?
  3. xjr eh? not as heavy as some of the opposition or indeed the xj900, you could pull trees out with one of those. Long running model and an owners site. funny how that one in the pic stands up on its own (just joking), incidentally tony I think that might be one of our daughters
  4. agree with the comments, used to use them for commuting and they do keep the chill off but extracting your hand to fiddle with the visor etc gets to be more practiced. Took advantage of the ride magazine offer to get the 'free' heated grips, these are quite good - offer may still be on although if you leave them on unnecessarily or too hot there is a strange prickly sensation - cold weather gear seems to have plusses and minuses.
  5. well that would cost a little bit more than usual to insure as well as needing somewhere safe, warm and dry to store. still if you have £38K that probably wouldn't be a worry.

    greetings

We are a great bunch mate you will ave a laugh on ere deffo can't beat a good forum when you find one and this is it ta - good hunting for another bike if you are still looking.
  7. cheers, appreciated: - this has to be the most friendly forum. so intent on finding out more about that Suzuki that I didn't read the item properly - I have sent Lee a pm, thanks again. Incidentally streetfighter - imo that price was very reasonable, I would expect to pay around £1000 for a decent one with a ticket and tax, saw one for £800 without t and t. you might have been lucky but unless you are a good mechanic you can find yourself paying the asking price over again to get it sorted, speak from experience, but then I am not particularly competent on the fixing up front. For example, as you know, neglected brakes can be a hassle and exhausts/tyres/chain-cogs aren't cheap, my mistake was not to check for burning oil, a bit of revving shows it up, sign of wear if you see another. Of course that applies to all bikes but I think that model is a good 'un. hope this doesn't come over as a know all. love that particular bike - they were eclipsed by the bandit and apparently didn't sell that well, for that reason I suppose
  8. Gutted this was the colour of the bloody bike aswell looks lovely could ave done some great things wiv it Did you find it a comfortable bike streetfighter? That's why i'm interested in getting one (apart from the good looks). My XJ600n is fine up to a point but I'd like to travel a bit further afield in one go. When I say comfortable I mean a lack of banging up through the back end (ie good - dare I say - soft damping) and a lack of vibration. They have a nice fat rear tyre - 170 I think.

    greetings

thanks all - thame is about 7 miles ne of shillingford bridge tend to head out that way, to wiltshire for rides, salisbury plain is great for bikes, you can see a long way ahead mostly and it's fantastic at night as there's little light pollution, just distant glow of towns miles away.

  12. Hope you won't mind me butting in, new to forum, but does anybody know the difference in the models, GSX750W, GSX750Y and GSX750X please? or is it the numberplate prefix rather than model variation.
