  1. £ 1148 up by £150 for digging up a couple of side roads that had nothing wrong with them and a 50 million pound bus/train station with no staff and a flagging town with half the shops closed down... genius.
  2. ahhh yes. Council wanted to scrap that a couple of years ago but the natives revolted. Its still on. Yes some lovely back roads round to bacup, todmorden, haslingden, kiegthly etc but a very unforgiving wind comes down pendle hill on a cold day.
  3. the backside of the north west... nelson. Near colne/burnley
  4. thanx gang, i my have just done my first self diagnosis using a multimeter. plenty more as the trip meter is gone. it is on a lcd display and shows up as zero. that's the reason i ran out of fuel on the A59 to skipton (an extremely rookie thing to do as I gather). And yet again a farmer came to my aid saving me a 3 mile walk... in the dark... with all my protective clothing
  5. hi all, anyone know if the horn off a suzuki vl 125 is interchangable with a suzuki 800 vl? they look almost identical.
  6. i have heard of those precious few who cry hard up and yet their yards are lined up with gleaming new tractors at about 120k a pop. A dispatches programme a few years ago exposed barons and lords who were worth million and yet were getting grants every year for owning agricultural land with the intention of one day farming it. great cock for some ehh
  7. mines getting the box of chocolates she wanted on saturday when they are cheaper
  8. its been two months since i started riding....well not really two month as the weather has been crap this side of the pennines but the verdict is I LOVE IT!!!!. I have named my bike cossette because of the tragic start we had together. What have I learnt so far???? -thermal, socks, thermal socks, thermal socks. My toes nearly fell off on a ride out with normal socks. _mind the horse. Horses don't much seem to like bikes never mind the devilish looks I get from the riders. - Got to slow down abit earlier than I did on a car. Nearly went into the bushes with that. I'm sure there is a lot more and there will be no shortage of suggestions so please fire away and educate me more. On a nother note, I got myself one of those viper rs 131 bluetooth lids but it will not pair with my garmin nuvi 2515lt . It does (sat nav) find the helmet (as blinc ii) attempts a pair but then rejects. Any pointers??
  9. hey everyone, I came across this site whilst doing some research on my viper helmet yesterday. Well alot has happened since then. I took my suzuki vl 125 out for the firs time to day (christmas day). I was the first time i had been on a bike and I thought, whilst everyone else will be at home pigging out, the roads will be clear. It was abit wet and cold and I was enjoying lonely country lanes. I stopped for a fag. When I got back on, there was no response from the starter. I checked and rechecked that I was not employing any cut outs accidentally.....still nothing. I tried a bump start but I must have been doing something wrong because the engine gave a very unconvincing bubbling noise and died. The rain was coming in and I had about an hour of light left and did not know exactly where I was. I pushed my bike to a nearby farmhouse and asked if they could help me jump start the battery a running car engine. On the parking ignition position the light comes on but on full ignition position not even the trip meter comes on. The starter motor doesn't respond. I was just about to leave the bike there and have it towed tomorrow when the lovely farmer man employed his sons to heave my bike on the back of a van and he took me back home. After warming up by the fire I am now stuck on what is wrong. What an introduction to biking ehhhh
  10. I had the same issue with charging it on the road, often do several thousand mile trips etc... my solution was to buy a spare mains charger from Viper for the plug, and an old USB charger cable swapped the ends over after checkng the current pin outs with a multimeter and have a 12volt cigarette lighter to USB adapter I use for charging phones etc. with me anyway so it's just the cable thats needed. Voltage is the same as the mains charger, and it has worked fine for 2 years now. i hear you chif but would it be easier to just connect a cigarette lighting unit instead of a usb end? I just got the helmet myself and i was researching this very subject before i bumped into this post. Do you reckon I would need to install a fuse as well
