  1. Thank you, Cholette. That means more than your know!
  2. Well, nothings as it seems now. Yesterday he had open heart surgery. It was a quintuple bypass! It just it doesnt' seem to fit. He is very active and is not a large peron. He said his goodbye's yesterday as if he didn't think he'd come back. I told him to call on Jesus. God has a definite plan for my dad, because he should have passed away two years ago! So thank you, thank you, thank you! Please keep praying for a speedy recovery and for his salvatoin!
  3. Thanks so much, everyone! When they did the surgery initally, it was to remove his gall bladder. They then said they needed to do a triple bypass. The surgery was today and they had to do a quintuple bypass instead. This is for a man who is about 140 lbs. and is extremely active. Surgery was about 5 hours. I know the Lord had His hand on this because there were absolutely no signs otherwise! He is resting well and will be sedated through the night. Keep praying please, he is not out of the woods yet and my precious dad is not a Christian!
  4. Thank you! He was moved out of ICU today, which is a miracle in and of itsself!
  5. He is in ICU and had his gall bladder removed on Wed. Sometime after that he had a heart attack. they don't know his prognosis at this time. He is not a Christian and this is the third time in a year he's been in the hospital. I KNOW it's an attack of Satan, Thank you
  6. Ths is too weird. I'm planning on visiting Oregon this summer. I've just had the desire to go for some reason and I don't know why. I just thought it may be really pretty and provide an escape from the Texas heat. One bedroom apts. can go for as little as $650 or $700. They would likely be considered lower-income though. If you had time to really look, you may be able to find something decent for that amount or a little more. Regarding medical, I don't know your exact circumstance, but Medicaid is pretty good here. I'm self-employeed and have had trouble finding insurance that didn't have a high deductible. However, someone informed me that if you have applied for insurance and have been rejected for any reason and have gone for at least 6 months without insurance, Texas has passed a law that that requires the state to insure you. This is the same insurance that government employees get. This is my circumstance. I was rejected because of a pre-existing condition and have to wait until the end of August before the state will insure me. I'll send you a pm about the rest.
  7. Hi Steadygzaze, I'm in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Feel free to pm me or ask me here. I love it here.
  8. Hi MaMaZ, Yes, your post blesses me! Thank you for standing in belief for my dad! He said he'd go to a couple of services. Just praying for the right one! Maybe I shouldn't worry which one, but sometimes I do. Blessings to you in New Zealand! Shannon
  9. I think it went well. We had a guest speaker but I'm hoping he'll hear our pastor soon.
  10. Thank you so much MaMaZ! I am believing your prayer mightily!
  11. Thanks so much, chay28!
  12. To all my fellow sisters and brothers, Please pray for my dad for tomorrow bc he is going to church with me. He is not a Christian and has not attended church for close to 20 years. I just want him to be covered tomorrow. Thank you!
  13. Great Jasmine! Lots of people here have been praying for you!!!
  14. Praise the Lord! Do you feel you have the tools you need now? Good support system?
  15. Just wondering princessdelia, how's the job hunting going? I've been in prayer for you!
  16. Lord, I thank you that Jasmine is in capable hands. You never leave us or forsake us. I come into agreement with everyone else and am believing for her FULL deliverance and recovery! Love you Jasmine!
  17. Oh, ok. A lot of people who cut do so in spurts. Like they may not feel the need to for a while, then pressure builds up and they cut again. That's just been my experience, but I know you can't put everyone in a box. Thanks for sharing Jasmine :)
  18. Hi Jasmine, Oh, sweetheart. I hate to hear that you are cutting, but so glad that you have an outlet in this forum. I don't know if this will help you or not and I hope I don't get into trouble for saying this, but I feel it could be helpful to you. I am a counselor who works with children and teens and I have encountered cutters before. What I've observed is that the cutting is less painful than all the emotions and that cutting acts as sort of a release of these painful emotions. The scars are a physical reminder of the emotional scars. I can't give you any clinical advise here since I am not your counselor, but you NEED to tell your counselor, Jasmine. I agree with all the posts you've received on this thread. God is mighty to save and He is your deliverer, but I understand that it's hard to "just quit" and that's why you need accountability. Face to face accountability. Others are right when they say you are never alone and Jesus does weep for those who weep. Satan is lying to you, Jasmine and I'm angry with him over this epidemic of cutting. Please tell your mom and your counselor. You need to have your mom remove all sharp objects around the house and be honest if there are any hidden anywhere. I love you as my sister in Christ and I will be in prayer along with all the others. Jesus is mighty to save and you can do ALL things in Christ Jesus!
  19. You are so welcome! Please keep me posted. I'm excited!
  20. Hi princessdelia, I know from experience that sometimes God is a last minute God - providing needs at the 11th hour. I went through something similar years ago. I claimed His provision and prayed. I was very specific in what I wanted and turned down several jobs because it wasn't what I desired and I know God wants to give us what our hearts desire. Well, I was applying to be a teacher and I wanted a job in this one school district because I went to school there, substituted there and knew some administrators. It also paid the most in all of north Texas! I wanted a job teaching secondary school. I went on three interviews in that district and was always told, "It came down to you and another person and the other person had more experience." School was starting soon and here I had turned down three other jobs in other districts (the program I was under required that we apply in more than one district.) It was about five days before school started and I was about to give up and thought I'd be substituting again. Well, I got a call from an ELEMENTARY school and I knew someone on the panel REALLY well. Anyway, as I was driving I prayed, "Lord, pleeeease give me this job. (I was begging at this point) Then I'll never forget what He said to me, "Do you want this job?" I said, "No Lord." "Then why are you asking Me for it? Don't you know I can provide a job above all you could ever ask or imagine?" I'll be honest. I still was thinking this would be my last opportunity and didn't know what God had up His sleeve. I didn't get that job either. Then, THREE DAYS before school started I got a call. It was 5:00 on Friday, school started on Monday. It was SECONDARY and I got the job! I had a lot of freedom to do what I wanted from the principal and had great training for what I now do. I also got to miss all the mindless teacher training most schools put teachers through at the beginning of the year! But what I did earlier was pray with expectation. I'm disappointed with myself in one regard and that is that I was willing to accept a job that was a little less than what I had originally asked God for. But God proved Himself to be faithful despite my shortcomings. I'll tell you another thing that I did. I reminded Him of His Word. I stated with confidence that this is what His Word says and that I was declaring His promises! I also know that I have authority and dominion over this earth because of the cross. Sometimes we have to rebuke satan and stand our ground. Could the person in your dream that was taking advantage of you be satan? Have you claimed your God-given authority in this matter? Claim what is not seen as seen.Dare to ask God for what you want and be specific. Your job is already yours in the heavenly realm. Now expect the manifestation of it in the earthly. I'll believe with you, "for where two or more are gathered in agreement, it shall be done!" Be blessed! Shannon
  21. Hi Chimere, Your post is amazing! It spoke to what my small group was studying today - prayer, like pushing in(I loved the acronym PUSH by the way) and receiving by faith. We were challenged by a minister to have focused prayer, intent on intimacy with the Father. We agreed that we would press in over the next few months and grow in our intimacy. What's more, we had a guest speaker at church this weekend who has the largest evangelical church in the Arabic world. He's in Egypt. Anyway, He said that his church started praying that Christ would manifest Himself in dreams and visions to the Muslim world around them. They began to hear reports of this happening over and over. Then, they began to pray about specific family members and saw miraculous manifestations and salvations! His point was to constantly be before the Lord in prayer and expect to receive miracles! Thanks for sharing!
  22. Hi Abigail, I will surely pray for your mom. I can relate to what you are going through as my mom has suffered from some injuries lately. Dad tries to be patient, but sometimes he can be a bit insensitive. It's hard when we see our parents getting older and the roles almost reverse. I'll pray for your strength too.I don't know if your mom is thinking she is like the woman in the Bible who had the issue of blood, but when I prayed, I felt I needed to speak against that. BTW, I'm in Ft. Worth. I noticed you are in Dallas!
