custom Hw Racks...

Recommended Posts

Found this on the net.............great idea

You need the following for each rack:
1x 8' section of white plastic shower panel holder thingie. They're on an endcap near the bath section in Lowe's. They have a sort of "U" shape in the profile.
1x 8' section of a differnt profile of the white plastic channel. This one is more like an "I" profile.
1x 2'x2' luan plywood. Lowe's had these pre-cut in 2'x2' sections.
Some satin black spray paint
Staple gun
Total cost per rack is right around $7.
The "U" shaped channel is the left, bottom, and right side of the rack. The "I" shaped channels are the middle 4 rows of dividers.

Lay the pieces out and cut to fit.

Once you've got everything laid out, center the channels on the board and staple into place, using the cars as spacers. (Measuring is for math weenies)

Spray paint.

Fill them up. Display. Rejoice.

Cool idea!

Got to make sure all fasten securely coz 50 cars on that rack can get pretty heavy!
