metal plates that are nailed onto the soles of your shoes and heals to make them last longer I guess you were a posh kid and didn't have to do this -

Yep forgot that when DM's were banned at school we wore Levi staypress with leather soled brogues with seggs in sliding everywhere clip clop LOL -
Have you thought about doing a mobile service from the back of a van, At peoples homes or place of work, basic stuff General service oil/filters chain maintenance, brake pads etc. minimum tools good set paddock stands (front under yolk) Wheel removal take wheels to tyre fitters get tyres fitted return and replace wheels. Basic stuff that people can't or wont do themselves. Also valeting of bike incn service. fitting of aftermarket parts, handelbars engine crash bars etc. MOT prep. -
I'd go with this option too keep some of the original looks -

Good on ya M8 don't know you but have read your posts for a while you've been unhappy. Well done for sticking with it i'm sure most of us have been in crap jobs at sometime and It's not nice. Hope your happy in your new job New Year New Carreer and all that. -
