does this help Best Answer - Chosen by Asker Direct answer - 2kW electric heater - 34 Euro cents/ hour or 20 pence (UK) per hour and for a 3kW it will be 51 cents or 30 pence to run per hour nonstop at full power. (Note - calculated at Per kWh electricity cost in Ireland at roughly 17cents and in UK at 10 cents). See how to calculate below. Electric Fan / Space heater power range from about 2000 to 3000 watts (i.e., 2-3kW). The fan heater is economical for short bursts and in small rooms for instant heat compared to running your central heating or convection heating. 2) There is no significant difference between ceramic or standard fan heater. Both have similar conversion of electricity to heat. Ceramic probably a little extra convection of heat when you switch off. to calculate cost/ hour multiply your heater power in kW x electricit cost per kWh for ex - 2.4kW x 10 pence = 24 pence / hour or 2.4kW x 17 cents = 34 cents/ hour. For simpler calculation you can use http://www.handymath.com/cgi-bin/electric.cgi?submit=Entry to check cost of running your other household electrical equipments.
