  1. Try looking in shops like Singer or the sewing section in John Lewis
  2. Gah I have a similar problem on my bike It gets through a litre of oil every 2 weeks, and I'm getting a fair amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust every time I roll off the throttle. I put it down to the valve seals too, but after replacing them nothing has really changed. I'm still trying to rack my brain for any other possible causes
  3. welcome to the forum! and good luck with your CBT I've got a 1986 CG 125 at the moment which I would highly recommend as a first bike. The mechanics are wonderfully simple so when I rebuilt it, it gave me a good chance to learn many aspects of motorcycle maintenance and renovation. I also find that CG's (only the old ones) are really reliable, so it's certainly one to consider if you come across a decent one for a good price!
  4. Just thought I'd remind you guys; if anyone is planning to go to the classic motorcycle show in Stafford this year, the chance to buy yer tickets cheaper online ends in 9 days http://www.classicbikeshows.com/showindex.asp?showcode=TCM11

  6. I ended up replacing the tyres as well because they were super old anyway For a little bike like mine, 2 tyres, 2 inner tubes and 2 rim tapes cost over £100! And it was somewhat of a shame to find that Michelin tyres are now made in Thailand..They were made in Tai for there market only ie warmer climates, hence why they were cheaper i only know this as i work for Michelin through ATS Michelin are made all over the world Bar our own country each made for there own specifications Ahh that makes a bit more sense I suppose

  8. Yesterday I finally got my tyre off and found what had actually punctured it. I was expecting a small nail of sorts or something - not a 5 inch metal rod! Looking at that giant rip on the inner tube, it's no wonder I lost control of the bike so suddenly The entire thing was inside my tyre God knows how it managed to get in there since both ends are totally blunt. Anyway, after 3 weeks my new tyres arrived and I'm finally back on the road!
  9. Dave can have her/him back then. I've heard he bats both ways
  10. She just told me that she's secretly a bloke
  11. Hey Jules, welcome to the forum!
  12. yeah I really think they should at least have to do some kind of refresher test when they get to 70 or something another things that boils my blood is that so many oldies have nearly driven into the back of me at junctions 'cause they can barely see over the dashboard gah!

  14. A biker was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish." The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want." The Lord said, "Your request is materialistic, think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify me." The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy." The Lord replied, "Do you want two lanes or four on that bridge?"
  15. Hey, welcome to the forum! I love Z250s! I was considering getting one as my second bike, but now I've been convinced to go modern and go for a Bandit instead
